I was watching the 700 Club this morning (Pat Robertson cracks me up with his anti-feminist, homophobic, anti-Islamic comments. He is so arrogant!!!), and Bill O'Reilly was on it talking about the Cultural Wars. So I was wondering, what do you all think of the concept of the Culture Wars?

My real name is Rusne. (All of the letters are spelled out). My family is Lithuanian, but I live in the U.S. My name means "island" in my language. I have to tell everyone how to pronounce my name, which gets kinda annoying. No one has made fun of it, though. I know that it is a really unique name, but I would like to know what you think. I was just sitting here thinking how much I hate having to work, (although I am grateful to have a job so I can support myself). Since God gave Adam work to do before the fall it must not be punishment. So I ask ,why do you think that God made it important for us to work. To have a sense of pride (the good kind) ? EXODUS Chapt 29 Verse 15 to 23

All about how you should kill the Sheep!
"You shall kill the ram and sprinkle it around the altar"
"Shall Burn the whole ram on the altar"
"Shall take the kidney, take the liver..."
Finally
"Wave them as a wave offering before GOD!"

Why does god like us to kill animals, and offer it to him???
By doing all this make him happy???

first we have two well known sets (there may be more, i dont know)...the romans and the greeks...now for obvious reasons we know where they originated but my question is whose brainchild were they...i mean we "know" who wrote the bible but mythology is just that as stated by its name so we know it to be a bunch of stories....from what i understand the romans were more strict in adhering to the religious practices and beliefs set forth by these gods and the greeks were more laid back about it...we know that homer wrote the famous illiad and oddesey so were the origins of greek mythology his or what?....was someone just sitting around one day going "i think i'll make up some mythological gods and creatures today"...if so who?...or were these stories invented more for entertainment value?
