Joseph smith was reportedly searching for treasure with divinine stones and came upon a spirit claiming to be an 'angel' which said all Christian denominations are currupt... should we believe it.
Since Joseph Smith was disobeying the Bibles commands to avoid occult practice why would we trust the 'angel' is from God and why would he later join Harmony Methodist church and meet his wife is all denominations are corrupt. If this infomration is not correct please let me know. Thanks

the more I look at life, the more I see everything depends on the free will alone and not your connection with God. if I look at the people I know who are truly happy, these are all athesists, not deeply religious people. the religious people I know, are always struggling.

how do you explain, for instance, that everything works out for a truly selfish person.

I don't have a specific question, I just wanted to talk to you about this a little bit.

people succeed if they rely on themselves (the concept of free will). they don't need to be moral/"good".

I was just wondering what type of person is drawn to this site. Not so much your profession but more of what your natural 'soul voice' is within you. Are you more the sarcastic / bored type, keen minded / creative thinking, deep thinker, edgy with an attitude, shy, writer, musician, artist, curiouis of people (what goes on in their head), in search of answers etc. I know a person can be a blend of any of these...yet what would your primary ' type ' be? I have my thought of the answer...but wanted to ask here.

but the way I see it is If it wasnt for my great, great, grandfather fighting in the cival war, then Micheal Jordan and Denzel Washington, would still be pickin cotton in the field. Some one answered a question with this answer. All I can say is GOD bless your little heart. I really believe that some people are very naive to the facts of slavery and even society today. But to set the record straight none of his white ancestors fought in the civil war to end slavery They fought for a central government they wanted america to be a union and for that they decided to free slaves to get them to fight with them.This was a business deal not a lets free the slaves plan All white people say is get off welfare and stop gettin any other government aid But I look at it like this black people made this country rich with free labor and unfair wages. Black people are light years behind white people as far as economics So why do white people look at black people as leeches?

The JW transaltion has no names attatched... are they secret?
How do we know they are qualified? What texts did they translate from? How did they arrive at Jehovah being a propper way of translating the name of God?

A lot of women cross their legs for a long time and they get a large round red spot on both their legs, on the calf and knee on the other leg. how do most women ignore that spot? i dont mind that spot at all. i was just curious how women walk around with that for like ten minutes?

one day the Minister decided to have the outside of his church repainted and murphy volunteered, sure I`ll do a grand job sir, you leave it to me.
so Murphy had an idea,`If I thin all the paint down sure I can do the job for half the cost and pocket the difference.

Whenever there is a complaint about sex, profanity, drugs, violence, etc. to be made, the complainant always seems to have great knowledge of the incident/TV programme/ question on YA, etc that caused offence. Obviously, these people continue to expose themselves to material they find offensive way past the point they realised it was animal porn/snuff movie etc. rather than Wogan or "Songs of Praise".

Now personally, I would not go to church because I would find the activities there to be sanctimonious, preachy and dull - at best - and should I accidentally tune in to "Songs of Praise" I would change channel. If I instead were to sit through the whole programme, I would not expect any sympathy if I found it to come across a bit holier than thou.

So are these complainers just too thick to realise that "The Helmet Rides Again" is not going to turn into a war epic after the fifth nob gag and second gratuitous tittie shot, or are they just closet perverts protesting too much?

My bf and I are currently oceans apart over a month ago. We've been together for nearly 4yrs. I broke up with him because everytime when he's partying with group of friends he's often "high" or chronic (pot). He's somewhat a nice guy but when he gets exuberant and high he nis totally the opposite from what he is when he's clean/normal. I don't smoke, though drink in a rare occasion but moderately. This afternoon when i phoned him he sounded so fvcked up, slurred which I could hardly understood what he was saying. I get tired of this and I don't want to marry someone who has this kind of filthy habit. I love him but he cannot compromised with my personal standard. Did I make the right decision? Or should I say it's ok he can stick with his dirty habit as long as I don't. But it hurts me when I see/know he's not they way he is. Would you not care about it? What if your bf/husband or partner was a pot-head wouldn't you care?

I was just thinking. The matter how little money I have in this country. The peasants from 200 years ago, or the starving in Africa would think me very rich and fortunate. How come it's so difficult to appreciate what we've got and stop comparing ourselves to people better off.
