I was once Christian, and know from my studies of the Bible that one person can read a verse of scripture and have an entirely different understanding of the text than the next person who reads it. So why do many Christians on this forum answer only with scripture without giving its context? It is rather confusing to those who may not be familure with the Bible, or at least that is my opinion. I mean no ofense by this, I am just wondering why some people do this because more often than not the answer that a person gives is so ambiguous that one wonders what the heck the person is talking about.

Zechariah 12:10—“The One Whom They Pierced”
The Watchtower Teaching. The New World Translation renders Zechariah
12:10, “And I will pour out upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of
Jerusalem the spirit of favor and entreaties, and they will certainly look to the One
whom they pierced through, and they will certainly wail over Him as in the wailing
over an only [son]; and there will be a bitter lamentation over him as when there is
bitter lamentation over the firstborn [son]” (italics added). By contrast, the New
American Standard Bible renders the critical part of this verse: “they will look on
Me whom they have pierced.”
Now, here is the critical point: In this passage it is Yahweh (or Jehovah) who
is speaking. It is Jehovah God Himself who says (according to the New American
Standard Bible and other legitimate translations), “they will look on Me whom they
have pierced.” Obviously, this means that Jesus is Jehovah. But this goes against
Watchtower theology. So, in order to avoid Jesus appearing to be Jehovah or
Almighty God, the Watchtower Society deliberately altered the text. In the New
World Translation, it is not Jehovah that is pierced. Rather, “the One” (Jesus, as
distinct from Jehovah) is pierced

I am putting up a gift shop and im looking for a good brand name. I thought of using other language except spanish ( because Tagalog and Spanish are almost the same ). I want the brand name to sound very catchy. Any other brand name suggestions will be more than welcome. :)

I was re reading a book of my brother's and found this on the title page.
" Adieu, the years are a broken song
And right grows weak in the fight with wrong.
The lillies of love have a crimson stain
And the old days never will come again"
This was from the diary of a WW1 Australian Soldier. Are the sentiments still accurate?
In need of reassurance, Rose P.
PS, the book is "The Broken Years" by Bill GammIge. RP.

In my country , the muslims generally pray only on Friday . Recently my company sent me to work at the manufacturing plant located in a muslim dominated country. Now in the new place of work , the muslims insist they have to pray 5 times a day , irrespective of their work schedule. When it is time to pray, they will leave their work place . Why such a difference in attitude ?

Hello everyone, hopefully I will get some real answers. If you want to spread hate, ignorance, or anything that would fall under personal opinion please move on.

My wife is soon going to start the next step in her change to a him. She is starting T-shots. Can anyone tell me what expect? I know mood swings and a changed sex drive, but I would like to know to what extremes. Am I going to have a late 20’s teenager? Are the shots hard to give? Iv'e been asked to administer them and have a big issue with needles.

I love my wife (soon to be husband) and we are not splitting up, I am not leaving. I just want to have a basic idea of what to expect.

Thank you in advance, sorry if my wording is harsh, but we all see the hate on here.

Have any of you seen the movie Pay It Forward? One person picks three random strangers and does a great deed for each. Then, those three people each choose three more random people to help and so on. That would be a great idea. At least it would get people involved within the community...and interacting with each other more frequently.

To me, traditional Christmas music here in L.A. does NOT involve singing about horse-drawn sleighs in the snow...especially when it HASN'T snowed here in 52 YEARS!!!...or chestnuts roasting over an open fire, when we've had brush fires that killed innocent firefighters, and not every house has a chimney!

Please tailor these songs to benefit the L.A. holiday scenes, like the Capitol Records Building in Hollywood adorned w/ a tree of lights on its roof...or the Santa Monica Pier w/ lights strung along both sides...

I HATE East Coast traditions that put pressure on us to conform...blame the advertising agencies on NY's Madison Avenue...

I hate to sound like a Scrooge, but this is L.A., and I DON'T like traditions that are strictly enforced...

Your take on this, please...

Thanks...

To block all "developed" country from coming to their country? Frankly, culturally, they is an air of US vs. THEM everywhere. They are not allowed to come here and culturally mix with us so we can understand them better or vice versa. Its really hard for them to get a visa to begin with (i mean u'll have to have a zillion dollars in your bank account to start with). They are very creative people with same intellectual capacity as anyone else. Why are they barred from travelling for adventure and survival. What are you youngesters fresh with degrees doing? Wake up and see the world!
Why is it still US vs. THEM?
Its seems that a chimpanzee have better chance of choosing whats right for us than the brightest college grad. Atleast, a chimp can chose one banana over the other RANDOMLY with no racial/cultural stigma to it.
A professor would be on par with the chimps. !!
WHY!!!

For once in your sorry lives, stop stereotyping the emo subculture, especially when you know nothing about it. Assuming what everyone says is true makes you an ***. It's not just emo people that cut. Others do it as well. Not all emo people cut. I realize other races/cultures have it harder. It's not fair to judge anyone, so why conform with popular opinion? It's amazing how ignorant some of you are. Seriously, grow up and get over yourselves. For those who've been stereotyped for anything, I'm sorry. I've been where you are, and I'm still there. People can really suck.
