I've had mormon friends married by their bishop outdoors, in homes and at other non-church venues. Bishops are authorized to perform marriages just like clergymen from other churches. A non-temple wedding could be whatever the couple agrees on & the bishop agrees to conduct. The only difference is that you won't be sealed like you would in a temple. But you can always do that later on. Hope this helps.

I am not 100% sure on this one, but I believe from reading a fictional book once that a Mormon bishop can perform a marriage in other places, but they would definitely encourage having a wedding take place in the temple (if worthy) and then a local LDS church as a second option. My guess is you would have to have the bishop clear it with whoever was over the other church you found.

Yes, as long as the pastor of the "old rustic church" didn't mind. Most people who get married by the bishop prefer to get married in their church chapel, but he can marry you anywhere - except the temple of course.

As was already mentioned, LDS Bishops are legally licensed by the state to legally marry couples. and means anywhere they can. My own bother was married outdoors. However, in the church, Bishops can only marry for time; "death do you part". Other priesthood holders that have been given authority to marry (state and church) can marry couples "for time and eternity"; and that can only be done in a temple.

They will not. That is OK too. If you can't get married where you want by the Mormons it is OK to leave the Mormon church since it is not a historically correct church to begin with.

Sure, they don't HAVE to marry you in a church...my sister was married by our bishop at her sis-in-law's outside our stake and "outside" in a big tent.
