I just think it's such an interesting story, but wondered if there is any ending to it. Do you think he is dead or alive? What about the money?

I saw that same documentary. The money the kid found was from the heist - the serial numbers matched. It was only a very small portion, though, of the approximately $200,000 he is said to have stolen. He tried to go back for it but was never able to find the exact spot where the money was buried. He was living down in Florida when he died. They were not able to conclusively prove that he actually was Dan "DB" Cooper, but there were several indications that he could have been. He took his wife out to a location very close to where the money turned up some 30 years later. He looked around for a while, and left. The wife certainly thought that there might be something to it.

The money that the kid found was badly damaged from years of exposure to wet dirt and other elements, so it is likely that if any more of it ever does turn up, it will be in even worse condition.

I remember seeing a documentary on TV about it. The man on his death bed confessed to his wife that he was Dan Cooper. He said he buried the money in a metal pail, and planned on coming back for it later. When he came back to collect after the heat was off, he couldn't remember where he stashed the cash.

Later on a kid playing in a stream found a rusted pail with some denigrated bills in it. I'm not sure if it was ever traced to the D.B Cooper case though.
