Should gay men be allowed to get 'action' in public plaes like shopping mall toilets because our community is based on our private erotic lives?

To what degree can you control your urges?

From a legal standpoint, this activity is a crime in some localities. This is definitely considered a risky behavior legally, and usually homosexual activity is prosecuted far more vigorously than heterosexual activity (yes, some straight people/couples have public sex. Why shouldn't they??).
If you're unsure of the laws in your area, it would behoove you to find them out. While the chances of your getting arrested are not usually high, circumstances vary wildly, as do the penalties. An anonymous phone call to a legal aid hotline or your local courthouse won't hurt you. A good rule of thumb to use is: the more public the place, the riskier the activity, and the higher chance you'll get busted. Nude beaches are especially chancy.
From a physical harm standpoint, all I can say is be careful, many people have been “bashed” whilst participating in public sexual activity. If your intuition tells you to leave, then leave. There' always another time.

You asked, so I'll tell you: I don't think this kind of behavior is healthy at all. It can become habit-forming and there is always the risk of being caught by the authorities. The chance of getting STDs is also increased.

I don't think it's typical gay behavior, although, quite frankly, I think that bisexual fellows are often more caught up in this type of activity, solely because their lives are so secretive and they might not have steady male partners.

The first step to controlling sexual urges in public places is to tell someone that you are doing something that worries you, that embarrasses you, or that goes against your core values. You have, indirectly, just told us that. A second suggestion I have is to avoid situations that can turn into sexual activity -- avoid hanging around public restrooms, parks, etc. If you have to use the toilet, do so and then get out of there.

Yes, 'cruising for action' in public toilets and other places do happen in the gay community. I wouldn't go so far to say that it's gay behavior- not everyone, not even a majority, does it, and it's not a part of the gay culture, although it does have a bit of notoriety for promiscuity and casual sex.

Should gay men be allowed to get action in public places? Of course not. Nobody should- gay or straight. It's unsanitary, fairly disgusting, and can scar people who find out (like little kids who might see it). That's just my thoughts- keep it illegal. Sex should be in the privacy of one's home, no matter who you are. Now, a lot of people get a thrill from doing things in public, and if they want to, they certainly can go out and do it. But they better be prepared to be arrested if caught.

To what degree can you control your urges? One hundred percent!

Gee, are strip clubs, houses of prostitution/brothels, and female escorts considered part of heterosexual culture? Is it "heterosexual behavior"?
Do the negative things that others do reflect badly on you personally simply because you share their sexuality or are you an individual with a set of ethics and morals that you personally live by and try to uphold?

"To what degree can you control your urges?"
Apparently better than most, I don't see my sexuality as an excuse to behave in an unethical manner, nor do I feel that "I" look bad because some closet-case 3 counties over got caught trying to do the nasty in a park bathroom.

yes its a part of some peoples lives, straight and gay people enjoy public/risky sex, the chance of getting caught increases the pleasure, but its still illegal sometimes if you play you gotta pay.........i used to do this when i was in my 20's, i havent in a decade or so, it just got desperate and empty so i stopped.

well as long as you don't hit on a stranger in the bathroom thinking he's gay and turns out he's not. If your talking about doing something with a partner you already have in the bathroom go for it. what can they do?
