i read somewhere that you can't have long hair and be emo.....so am i gothic? I have long black hair and love to wear red lipstick and lots of black clothes. and i happen to love hard rock, but i wouldn't really say i am a hardcore goth....i am not really a sad person.

How does it make you more comfortable with this life, and how does it help you cope with the suffering of yourself and others?

What were you healed of? What happened? And why were you worthy of it over somebody else?

There's been some articles on studies done on persons Born Again and speaking in tongues. The studies show that the individuals aren't experiencing mental breakdowns or personality disorders that may result in hearing voices.

Two items of interest is that none of the test subjects spoke any known language, which was explained that they were speaking the language of the angels. But, when the Apostles received the Holy Spirit and spoke tongues, it was for a purpose, to spread God's Word to many nations, all with different languages.

The other item of interest was that the test subjects were not using the language centers of the human brain. You would assume, that regardless of what language they would be speaking, they would be using the language center of the brain, unless they were speaking gibberish.

I imagine someone has an explanation, but it seems to me that in everything, God uses what is available. Wouldn't he also use that portion of the brain meant for languages?

Is it people who are faithful to him? Is it that he likes some people better than others? Is it as a display of power for unbelievers? Really, what are the criteria that God sets to perform miracles?

I'm not asking this out of spite. If anything, it's out of desperation. I've seen people on here talk about their or others' healings performed by God, and the one I love is suffering with an incurable chronic disease and lives in constant pain and fatigue. Why isn't he worthy of a miracle?

I am just tired of all religions of all types pointing fingers at each other. I would like to propose a religion built on the foundation of all religions that all could follow, unity and balance. Religion is meant to unite us, not to divide us. I want us to realize that we are united because we are all individuals. The truth can be found only when all truths are examined, the fine lining is there. I call it weism. Of course, it would have to be a religion that can't be preverted by "deaf mutes." End the war, let's take religion back to its roots and make it the way is is supposed to be.

We'll be the ambidorkstrians, and all good boys and girls who can be dorks in both left and right lobes of the brain will go to dork heaven! We'll dance naked in the moonlight, parachute into pools of chocolate pudding and spread our message to the masses wearing edible jumpsuits!!

Um, can you bring the donuts?

Ok, I work at a store as a cashier.Today this lady comes through my line with 2 big dills of water.she says 'they are 5 gallons' and I say, oh both of them are 5 gallons.she says yes so i charge her for 2 five gallons of water.A few minutes later, she comes to the side of me while i have a customer and starts to point her finger at me and starts to raise her voice almost griping me out.She says that i charged her for 2 five gallons.i said 'yes i did b/c you have 2 of them.' she says ok.sorry.a few minutes later, the lady comes up to my register while I have customers(she doesn't wait for them to leave or nothing)and apparently i had made a mistake and she went and got her money back. she shows me the receipt and says 'see only 5 gallons' and tears the receipt in half and throws it at me (while I still have customers). she then says 'next time pay better attention'.she ended up having 1 two gallon&1 3 gallon bottles making 5 gallons, which would make it a misunderstanding between us.

A Mormon friend of mine just went into the seminary, and I don't know if I should write him letters while he's there or not. He's infatuated with me, but I can't make him understand why a New Age type bohemian wouldn't be happy in a Mormon community. I'm not even sexually attracted to the guy, and it hurts him.

What with seminary and the actual mission, he'll be away for years. I don't want him to think I don't care about him, but I also REALLY want him to have time to get over me. Should I write letters or not?

I feel like I have to send at least one, because I have to tell him (yet again) that I'm not attracted to him that way and ant him to move on while he is doing his religious stuff.

At this point, what should I do?

Help me out here, I'm confused? Since the name "Jesus" is a mistranslation from a mistaken Greek translation, and his proper Hebrew name in Aramaic was "Yeshua" does he know to whom the prayers are for? Since the name Jesus has no actual meaning or point of historical reference wouldn't praying to Joe, Sam, Leroy or Billy Bob be just as effective? And since nobody knew what the actual Yeshua looked like, although he was reported to be a typical jewish male of the time. Doesn't the modern depiction of the long haired somewhat androgenous white European looking Jesus add more confusion to an effective spiritual connection? And multiply that with the fact that Yeshua was reportedly of the Jewish faith and Christianity had not yet been invented, theorized or written? Doesn't that add up to the wrong name, wrong face, new religion equals... praying to an imaginary friend?

How is this enigma reconciled, bible quotations don't count as an actual, logical or intelligent answer.

I mean they say they do belive in God but not in Judaism, Chrsitanaity, or Islam way, dont they realise if it wasnt for these relgions these people wud not have belive in the God they do belive in the first place? i really dont understand that, if they belive in the same God as the 3 main religions do then why not follow one of those religions & belive in that way, its like they made up their own relgion to belive in the sam God, why do they do that, what possibly can be the difference in worshipping the same God but through their own way.

I left Christinaity very recently. I've been in many evangelical forums and tried many discussions and debates. But when I point out the mistakes in their arguments and eventually they run out, they either stop responding to my posts, or lock the thread sayong it has "gone too far".

One forum said I was "harassing their members" because I repeatedly kept asking to back up her claims with proof and sources. Another one claimed that Noah's arc had been found, and when I said that the drowing part was acceptable ( that's doesn't mean it's proved. No Scientist ACKNOWLEDGED by the Scientific community believes in the tale literally ), the real question was about the survival of the animals on the way to the ship and on the ship, she just said she couldn't carry the argument if I can't handle logical answers! ( She never gave explanations to my questions )

There are tonnes of people from our country that have dual citizenship, but live somewhere else. They pay no taxes here, but can get gandma in to collect pensions. They add nothing to our culture, because they live in another country, but they come here for health benefits. They don't have to live with the reamifications of their political votes, but they still are asked who should lead us.

Is this right?

And just for fun, what if their country and ours, the very two countries to which they claim aligiance to, were to go to war? What if both had a draft?
