It`s basically telling you not to cheat,
Back in Old testament, There was no Jesus to forgive you. So They had Priest doing the Job. After Jesus died for us, there was a dramatic change. Since it was before Jesus` Time. It might be telling you be righteous, Follow the Lord Almighty`s laws. Basically, those verses were part of a story of Moses and Joshua

I might be wrong so check with your pastors and minister.

Hello, person who is taking text from the Bible out of context!!! Please keep in mind that the Old Testament was designed to create religious order (as well as societal order) among the Jews. It does not reflect modern-day Christianity, because when Jesus died on the cross for everyone's sins in the entire world, all those regulations written in the Old Testament were over - the only requirement for anyone of any ethnicity group to be "Written in the Lamb's Book of Life" is to confess that we are sinners, and ask Jesus to be our personal Saviour. With God in charge of our lives, the old Jewish laws are unnecessary! Please read in the New Testament, the book of John, chapter 3, verses 16 and 17: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son (Jesus) so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save it." By praying to God that we believe that Jesus is His Son and asking Jesus to come into our hearts and control our lives from now on, we are guaranteed to go to heaven when we die. That is my God, the God of everlasting love!
