Come on, people, it's almost 2007. This is ridiculous, and those people (the ones asking those type of questions) have no excuse for being that ignorant and hateful.

I had a vision the other day that was so stark and vivid I swear it was supposed to mean something. I have had similar experiences like this in the past, so I am familiar with symbolism in visions. But this has me really stumped.
I saw a tree sitting alone in a pasture. It was a big tree, with lots of leaves on it, and there was fruit on it, but I don't know what kind. As the fruit was getting ripe, it started falling off the tree and disappearing. Then the tree started turning black, from the bottom up. It was a charcoal black, like the tree had been burned, but I saw no flames or smoke. When the tree was completely black, the vision ended.
Here's the weird part; I called my brother and told him about it, he said he also had visions of a burning tree. Can anyone help me with the interpretation?

Being a shy and an quiet person, most of the time I'm not being able to show my authority when needed. People take the advantage of it and sometimes cross boundaries, which makes me feel frustrated and angry, but still I don't express my feelings. If at all I have to communicate that moment, my anger and frustrations show in the communication (in other words, I sound little harsh/rude).
Please suggest me how to be effective in showing authority without sounding rude?Any reccommendation with book, dvd or website is most welcome.(serious answers please)

I am French living in UK. I love it here with its traditions and culture but still am proud and happy of the French way of life and culture. Some of our friends find that "incomfortable"! What do you think ?

This mole was the physical proof that Muhammad was a prophet according to Tabari and other later Muslim authorities. While such ideas can be found in pagan traditions from many primitive cultures, it is not a part of theBoth the Bukhari and Muslim Hadiths describe what happened to Muhammad when inspiration came upon him. He heard ringing in his ears, fell to the ground, turned red, sweated profusely, made moaning sounds, spit ran from his mouth, etc. While ancient pagans placed a great deal of importance on such things, they were never a part of the biblical prophets.
religion of Abraham, the prophets, the apostles or Jesus.
He commanded that anyone who fell away from Islam should be murdered. (Bukhari vol IV, no. 260; vol. V, no. 630) Volume IX is filled with death threats against apostasy (pgs. 10,11, 26, 34, 45, 50, 57, 341, 342). He kissed and caressed the idol of black stone set into the wall of the Kabah. Hello,
I have a reception to attend in a couple of weeks. The couple had a civil union marriage a few months back and are now having the reception. It is 3 hours, at wedding/banquet place, just appetizers and open bar. They are not registered anywhere. They have been together for about 15 years and also living together for about the same. I am at a loss as to what to give as a gift. I am going solo, and am young and it is a coworker, not a very close friend. If you have any ideas, I would really appreciate it. Thanks-MJ

I was thinking more of peyote ingestion by native Americans and handling of venomous serpents by Bible bashers, rather than what the Catholics get up to with the choir boys.

From the perspective of an atheist, listening to a believer, on whether God exists.

1. Which God? Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Buddha, etc.
2. Which sect (assume Christian): Catholic, Methodist, Calivinist, Lutheren, Episcopal, many others, etc.

Note: the atheist is justifiably skeptical right now. In their mind, all these choices, and I as a believer made the right choice, and everyone else is wrong.

3. The Bible. The fact is that many books were written, and few were chosen. How do they as a skeptic know they were the right books to select.

4. Dogma and doctrine that is developed by people to decide what the Bible meant and what the specific religion is. More faith.

When looked at this from an atheists standpoint, thru their eyes, it seems absurd. The believer is many faith steps away from God. They are right, and others are wrong. The atheist is still at step 1. No wonder we argue and never get anywhere.

Step 1, "Why did the universe start, suddenly?

I hate it when people on buses insist on playing their music through their mobile phones, as if everybody else WANTS to listen to their awful R&B (or whatever).

Does this really wind you up too? Other than putting your own earphones on, how do you deal with it?

I don't know if there is such a quote by Jesus in the Bible. If there is such quote, or something similar to it, can anyone let me know which verse and chapter?

"Jesus said He who has sent me will come again, His name will be Truth, He will wear a red robe, He will be short with a crown of hair"

Thanks

Increaingly i feel ashamed to be a young persong in this country, i am sick of passing old ladys in the street and wathcing them scared as they cross the street to avoid me feeling intimidated. I do not dress in a way that should pose a threat because im a pri*ck in a hoody covering my face, or walking with a limp in a gang of thugs. Seeing all the other teenagers on the street in gangs talking about "shanking" people and all this crap is pathetic. Talking with a west-indian accent when you are white or asain, even the black kids that do it probably have British parents so why do we put on fronts all the time? I can get no respect at my young age because of these people who i myself refer to as "c.unts!"
I think it really is about time that we grew up lads!
