Because a child needs love, support, caring, and family more than they need to be surrounded by people simply because they share the same skin color. I think one of the most ridiculous and pitiful things in the world is to let a child languish in foster care rather than let them be adopted by someone who loves them but isn't the same race.

I think that would be wonderful. And yes, maybe moving to city where all races are accepted may be the calmest move... but think about what your community would be missing. Maybe staying where you are and educating those around you will not only make your town stronger..but your family as well. Good luck with your decision and remember the adoption process can take some time.

Its not any different to get in touch with biological parents because of race, or the race of adoptive parents. Although some countries dont allow, or keep real records of those things.
Some times people just love certain cultures and peoples. We want to adopt from mexico, but we're white americans. You cant explain it, you see a child and you fall in love with them, it happens.

It's a personal choice really. A lot of rich stars adopt kids of other races like Angelina Jolie, Steven Spielberg and Madonna.

You're asking a lot. Sorry, but I wouldn't give out personal information to you about people who have adopted. Answer to the question is...because they see past the children's colour and know all kids need love

I think a lot of it has to do with how strict our adoption rules are here in the US. Unfortunately, it's typically much faster, and sometimes cheaper, to adopt a child from another country. Our "system" has too much red tape, too many restrictions, etc. They are looking for the perfect family for these kids... but unfortunately, perfection does not exist.

I second Incognita's answer. I see a lot of Whites with Asian kids. Sometimes they're interracial couples. But my concern is that, since it's hard to adopt white kids in the U.S., they get the "next best thing" (Asians) from another country. There are too many kids right here in the states to do that.

I asked this question last month and no one answered it. I notice that there are alot of white couples adopting Asian kids, though. Right on Green Grasshopper! I think Asian kids are the next best thing to "white"...that's why you rarely see white couples with black kids or could it be just as long the hair is straight...

A child is a child no matter what race. Its not the race that determines a child but a child that determines a race.

Maybe because the race of the person is unimportant to them and the child is all they care about having.
