Being an "intellectual liberal" i had serious reservations back in 2000 and watched in horror as this country was turned upside down more by the authoritarian regime of bush, cheney, and friends. then it was blamed on suicide bombers. then on the unpatriotic. then on iraq. then on immigrants. now i think we just might have a tomorrow. i always hoped for young people to riot like in france when de Villapin is a jerk. but here the young people voted and won. Maybe there is some hope for this place.

Some of my friends laugh at me for me for believing in Santa Claus and the Cinnamon Bear and Crazy Quilt Dragon and the Maybeland and such, and I pity them. Santa Claus exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist and abound and give our lives their highest beauty and joy.

My friends Catholic so of course to them masturbation is sin to them. I don't go to churchs and stuff but I still try to follow the whole was sin and not in the bible.

I asked where in the bible it says its a sin, and of course I had to hear about Onan(again)

does anyone ever take a few seconds to think, maybe he was smited because he was suppose to give seed to his Brother wife but instead he had sex with her and spilled the seed on the floor refusing to do what he was suppose to.

having sex with your brothers wife and refusing to get her preganate like your suppose to and masturbation to me seem like 2 complete different things.

not trying to start a huge flame war here, but I am curious. I watch daily as people treat it like the end of the world. My full question is, if you feel anyone who is not straight is going to hell and that a gay marriage is not a "real marriage under god" that's fine...but why would you care. Those who are gay will go to hell as you believe, and you wont have to deal with them anway. I'm just trying to understand why it's such a huge believe that it's worth supressing rights.

for the record, I am neither gay, nor married. I just want to understand how people think.
