not trying to start a huge flame war here, but I am curious. I watch daily as people treat it like the end of the world. My full question is, if you feel anyone who is not straight is going to hell and that a gay marriage is not a "real marriage under god" that's fine...but why would you care. Those who are gay will go to hell as you believe, and you wont have to deal with them anway. I'm just trying to understand why it's such a huge believe that it's worth supressing rights.
for the record, I am neither gay, nor married. I just want to understand how people think.

isn't it a little closed minded to believe the whole country is religious? If other "sin", doesn't that put them right where you want them? in hell? Would you want sinners faking a life of not sin and ending up in heaven with you?
If you live your life without sin, why do you have anything to be worried about?

from these answers I take it we all believe that christianity is the only "right" religion? we all do realize this country was founded because people didn't want to be told what religion to believe in right?

Most oppose it because they have firm belief that it is a sin against God. It was not in Gods plan for a man or women to engage in homosexual acts. Sex is a gift from God and it is meant to be an act between a man and a woman as shown from the story of Adam and Eve. Etc.... In my opinion the church only believes homosexuality is a sin because it is a tradition. It was a rule put in place when they needed their communities to copulate so that they had parishioners to support their community and church. Homosexual behavior prevents the production of children. I'm not defending the church but I can understand where it came from and it's in human nature to take things to the extreme when they really strongly believe it is against their God. Some people will do anything for "their God".

The Bible says that the sin of homosexuality is an abomination in the eyes of God. He destroyed entire cities for the sin of homosexuality. I have no idea why He looks on it the way He does but since He's God and I'm not I'm going to have to go with He's right. I don't care that it's not politically correct to oppose gay marriages. I cannot condone something that I know is so offensive in the eyes of God Himself. It's not about suppressing rights. It's about suppressing urges. It's against the law to commit adultery too but look how many people do it. It's a sin just like homosexuality and I don't condone it either. I fully expect that one day soon everybody will be marching the streets and waving banners how we all have the right to commit adultery. We are not denying homosexuals their "rights" when what they are asking for defies God's laws. They can fight all they want and maybe get our human laws changed but it will never make it right. God's laws are above and beyond those of man. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. If he found the sin of homosexuality so offensive in the Biblical times to destroy entire cities for it there's no way He is going to ever be OK with it.

Practicing homosexuality is sinful. It is offensive to the God that I love. I would not like it if you came into my mothers house and use bad language because that would be offensive to the mother that I dearly love. Also, as a Christian I am very much concerned about the souls of my fellow man. I am no more upset by gay marriage than I am by premarital sex, rape, abortion or any other serious sin that would put a soul in mortal danger.
God bless,

Shouldn't the query be why do. folks suddenly wish to impose at the public anything that was once as soon as deemed as a intellectual health problem and in a few instances a sexual fetish? I miss out on the evaluation with slavery, equality, civil rights and many others. And there's no clinical information whatever that proves that any individual is born this fashion. But there were reviews proven that this can be a mental ailment, despite the fact that many now are scurrying to suppress this know-how. All that experience placed in the market to turn out that homosexuals are born this fashion were discredited. Due to the political local weather of the time the APA took homosexuality off the books as a intellectual health problem on account that from what one of the most psychologists obvious it wasn't harming someone and the sufferer appeared joyful with it. From what I've obvious thus far being one in all a certain race was once not ever deemed an health problem. Besides there are lots of ailments that a few folks look to be joyful with however it is nonetheless an health problem. And from so much of what I've obvious thus far homosexuality is a designated subculture. So I bet this hassle is relatively a query of subculture. Should or must we now not be given it? Afterall we suppose in equality and freedom for all. But for whom? And how some distance are we inclined to move in enabling all kinds of private freedoms amongst folks? After this must we enable polygomy and incest? This certain social scan method we are treading on detrimental waters persons. Just on account that you do not see polygomists, incesteous couples and others stressful their possess subculture rights, does not imply someplace down the street they don't seem to be going to begin. Trying to difference anything that's principal and absolute with sensible argument best method predicament. If one have been to convey truly logical technology into this one could see that normal legislation dictates that to ensure that the human species to outlive interplay ought to be among that female and male of the speicies. This is normal legislation. To oppose it could wipe us out (minus different approaches of procreation). For centuries religions and social order were constructed upon this one principal reality and for many who attempted to oppose it eventually induced their possess destruction. This is wherein we're headed if we don't seem to be cautious and considerate approximately this hassle. I'm on no account bashing homosexuals right here. They are individuals with hearts that beat like each person else, however this subculture brings approximately many issues if just for its historical past.

Well, thoughtful Question,
I believe that the seed of every evil is born into each of us. We ALL have the POTENTIAL to be a murderer,a rapist,a thief,a harlot, a homosexual,etc... We learn to fight against the things we see as wrong and feed what is good. What is fed grows and what is starved dies off. We are taught right from wrong by our environment. Habits of thought are formed. No-one is BORN to be homosexual, it is a combination of learned appropriateness and choices made!! I see homosexual behavior as deviant and against nature and God. (Sin) In my observation, people tend to prefer to be amongst others who share their deviations, and encourage others (especially the young and impressionable) to share them. Sanctioning such deviance wil only propagate this behavior. (What would be the natural conclusion of a totally homosexual world?? Human extintion!) I don't want my boys growing up in such an environment. It's unatural, unhealthy, unholy and UNGODLY!!

Main reason is that it promotes sin. If your gonna go down the sin is fun route then how about the other groups of people?
Is it then ok for a guy to have 5 wives next?
What about the pedophiles? What if they want to marry someone 13?
What if someone want to marry their dog? Can't deny them.
You can't pick and choose certain groups and they say all the others are not ok.
All sin is wrong. Gays promote it on tv by being proud of it is just as bad as a pedophile on tv promoting his sins and loving it.

Most of us have loved ones and we worry about them going to Hell.
I have teenage children and I don't want them recruited into thinking that they are gay. In the Public School System there are now people who try to goad them into giving it a try, to see if they like it.
As for my own personal feelings, I have a close relationship with God. God has inspired me to know that homosexual behavior is absolutely wrong. Plus, the Bible makes it clear in both the Old and New Testament that homosexual behavior is wrong. I support what God says.

Because marriage is a religious institution. People who are involved with the marriage covenant are in it for more than just sex but, that is the only reason gay people want marriage is to try to legitimize their disordered sexual behavior. Don't say because they have no rights and stuff because they have rejected civil unions that would give them these rights. They want to mock marriage.

Gay marriages defile and undervalue the sanctity of marriage which God has planned for a man and a woman who love one another and want to live together as husband and wife. Gays can make their own arrangements of being together without undermining the sanctity of marriage and nobody will complain or even bother.

im not one who agrees with gay marriage, only because to me, marriage is between a man and a woman for the purpose of procreating. how can 2 men or 2 women have their own children? adoption doesnt count here, thats another topic. if someone were to argue with me that homosexuals have the right to be married, i wouldnt argue that to be wrong. just like i wouldnt argue that my point would be right. everyones right, cuz everyone has different beliefs. this just happens to be my opinion
