Shouldn't christians be worrying about saving there own (ie. True Soldier of GOD) first, before they try to convert the rest of the world.

Reverend red madge says so. which i thought was interesting, because a couple of days ago I asked christians if they knew they were atheists, of course the question got delted. But in the 13 century atheists was someone who denied another aspect of someones belief, which included christians who denied marduk the pagan god of humanity. So if we all have different gods or no gods based on various beleif systems, then can it be said that we are all atheists as my athesit friend would suggest?

I was watching a show on the science channel last night that was studying near death experiences.

But they were saying more people now than any other time in history believe in the afterlife.

Why do you think this is considering we live during the technological age and know so must about everything?

This is just out-of-curiosity.

The last time I was at a church, the pastor quoted two different theologians on the resurrection of Jesus. One I can't recall, but I remembered the other was B.F. Westcott, and I dug up the quotation:

"Indeed taking all the evidence together, it is not too much to say that there is no single historic incident better or more variously supported than the Resurrection of Christ. Nothing but the antecedent assumption that it must be false could have suggested the idea of deficiency in the proof of it."

The other quotation said that there is more evidence for the resurrection than there is for the existence of the Roman Empire.

Now, the pastor showed these two quotes, but didn't say what any of the evidence was. Can anyone give it to me? That and more evidence supporting it than the existence of the Roman Empire?

It has to do with parenting or the lack there of. Also the media and outside influences. If a parent who grew up wearing provocative and revealing clothing, might find herself thinking that it is ok for her child to do so. Some might think of what they went through and decide it is a bad choice. The fact that many 10-14 year olds dress in this fashion, I would think it has to do with the lack of parenting and resposibility that parents take. They are the ones that allow or buy the clothes. What about the media, of course, because many kids mimic their parents, but many other mimic what they see on television, movies and games. When "skanky" looking women are shown, many of these girls attribute the fashion to being beautiful. Then you have peer preassure, who in turn might make the girl feel that she has to dress in this fashion to fit it. Parents taking more responsiblity and monitoring what their daughters wear and do might help with this problem. Your thoughts?

Do you think the Red Heifers may have some significant relationship to the mythical beliefs of Egyptian Gods? The black pig, for instance, was associated by the Egyptians with Set, who was the god of a people who conquered and oppressed them in pre-Dynastic times. Horus is depicted standing on the back of the pig and piercing its head with a lance; its legs and jaws are fettered with chains. But the pig was also a form of Osiris, "the good god". Set was dentified with the Apep serpent of night and storm, and in certain myths the pig takes the place of the serpent. The Egyptians regarded the pig as an unclean animal. There survives a strong prejudice against pork, and the black pig is identified with the devil. I wonder if the pigs born has significant inportance. Does the evil God Set have something to do with the birth of the Red Heifers?

The number one point that christians use to attack evolution is that it is just a theory. Because it is just a thoery it has to be proven before the churches can accept it. Now hear this: Electricity is just a theory, but I don't see any church, small or big, rejecting it (amish excluded). They should reject it because electric light is man made imitating the light that god created. They should reject it because it was developed through scientific process, and science pursues knowledge. The original sin is eating from the tree of knowledge. I think christians do not reject electricity because otherwise they would not be able to bring people in church to give their money. How would a multimillion dollar megachurch survive without some air-conditioning, lights, microphones, projectors, electric musical instruments, etc? How would any size church bring in big money without these amenities?

Electricity is just one example.

There is current and voltage law, but it is electric theory.

Leadership = stratification. Yes, I actually learned something from sociology class. So this thought has been popping up in my head for the past day or two and I just want to see what people think of it. I got into an arguement with a co-worker a few weeks ago about relationships and men being the leader. Well, she claimed her husband was completely equal to her, but at the same time claimed he was the leader. From a sociological perspective this is impossible. So, a few questions popped up. Did God create a sexist system? Why? Is God sexist?
