Generally not. Messianic Jews for the most part are Jews from very liberal backgrounds, though some will claim they are not. These liberal (reform) Jews do not adhere to the dietary laws. Some may in the respect they may not eat pork or shell fish, but the tend to follow their own guidelines, not those of traditional Judaism.

yes which is why they make no sense. they all believe that the law is impossible to follow and that jesus "fulfilled" it, but they still follow it, thereby acknowledging that no, the law is very followable and that no, jesus did not fulfill it. so whats the point of jesus again?

EDIT

every messianic jew i've ever encountered makes a big deal out of following the laws actually. because they want to be christian but still have a "jewish practice"

some do and some dont.
actually, let me clarify --- some *say* they do, but I highly doubt that they actually do. It is very complex and restrictive, and while they may not eat pork or shellfish, there are many other ways to violate kashrut laws, which I imagine they likely do.

but it doesn't really make sense. after all, jesus himself said that "what goes in to the mouth isn't important". but I guess it fits well with the whole j4j concept which doesn't make any sense in and of itself.
