many people here seem angry by the fact that people don't have manners..for instance there were some guys here said their girls are not ladylike+should be..some others agreed.

then there was this other post about men not opening doors to women..and many people on there said that in "the good days" men used to treat women like ladies and then the women lib made them stop +it's very bad and that they miss the good days..etc

then i notice that there are a lot of stay at home moms..i know! i respect that but..

if you think about it.. back in "the good days", women had to act ladylike, they had to be gentle, the majority were stay at home moms and were just there to give birth..

my mother told me all about it..she had to wear skirts, learn how to cook+knit @ school and the boys took woodchop (50's+60's)..it's segregation!

i know it's not like that today and i have equal rights but many people miss the old days..and if so we might go back!

does this make sense or am i nutts?

At this work place you are not to state your own side!Whatever someone is lying about you stands.Often things are so twisted, you are BLAMED FOR THE EXACT OPPOSITE YOU DID.Try state your own side. They will want to shout at you. They shout and say "Dont talk back".They will say you lie.Feels totally unamerican--NO human rights.Feels like 3rd world kangoroo court.
I am sick of it,feel trapped in it,feel like an utmost slave with no rights. It is killing me.This is in North- American corporate world.Any evilness and unfairness is OK.There is nothing you can do about it.I do not hope you are able to give me a suggestion, but please, try.

I have been working in a shop for a while and most of my great and very friendly colleagues are girls, only the manager and assistant manager are guys. So anyway, I'm having great time with my collagues but I do fear that one girl thinks I'm trying to steal her from her bf, but I only want to be her friend (i'm gay)!!
I drove home with her and his bf and I think he was bit rude to me, he might be jealous (for no reason).
I'm closeted, unless I go to a gay bar lol, so what I should do, should I tell my work-gals that I'm gay so they don't need to worry that I'm trying to get into their pants?

I'm not referring to ALL of the people in each group. Here goes..
To Atheists: Why the need to get on here to trash someone's belief in God or the Bible if they haven't tried to force their religion on you? Couldn't it be a good thing that a person has something to believe in that helps them live a good life? And why do some of the Atheists seem to detest even the most simple religious gestures so much that you fight to have them removed, like "Under God" in the pledge for example. Can't you just not say it and move on? The Christians are exercising their right to say it, and you're exercising yours not to. Isn't that fair?
To Christians: Why the need to come down on both Atheists and members of other religions. As stated above, if these people have something to believe in that's not satanic or evil in some way, why bash it? Why the constant arguing over whose religion is the "right" one? No person alive now lived on this earth during biblical times, so no one really knows.

Not in a general sense. Not that Stephen Hawking being a 'deep thinker' in astrophysics translates to him having deep feelings about art for example. But wouldn't you say him thinking deeply about the universe allows him to feel more deeply about it?

Do we need to think deeply about a subject to really feel deeply about it?

control over his surroundings? At what moments does he seem in command of his own fate and that of his companions? What message may we inter from Homer's treatmen of Odysseus' relationship with the gods? What do we learn about the poet's views on human nature and its interaction with forces beyond its control?

We only eat cooked food because of the taste of the heat. If we have a natural aversion to eating something in its natural state we were not made to eat it, such as meat. Take 2 identical cans of soup. same ingriedients both taste the same, both have been cooked before canned, yet you would rather eat the one you heat up just for the taste of the heat, right?

I love to do 'different' things and have original ideas...I was thinking this year when I send out Christmas cards (My card list is fairly short, not hundreds of them to send out or anything.) I'd like to have some kind of crafty insert included inside of the card. To me, this would make it more interesting for the recipients rather than just opening it up and saying,'Oh another card, hang this one up', you know?
-Any cute ideas on what I could include as an insert? (Other than including a picture.) I'm pretty crafty and have alot of free time at work to do this.

Buddha was a slim strong looking and sounding individual in the Indian stories. Now how come the Asian version of Buddha is very large and fat and ungraceful but jolly. How did this happen? It's very unlogical, Buddha did alot of walking all around India and begged for food which meant that he never recieved a huge amount or gorged himself or asked for more than his fill. I know Buddhism isn't as popular in India as it once was but how did he transform into this huge jolly man in it's transition to other parts of Asia. For a character which represents balance the east asian version looks nothing like it. So, please tell me how did Buddha become so fat???

POCATELLO, Idaho (Nov. 4) - Jeffrey Meldrum holds a Ph.D. in anatomical sciences and is a tenured professor of anatomy at Idaho State University. He is also one of the world's foremost authorities on Bigfoot, the mythical smelly ape-man of the Northwest woods. And Meldrum firmly believes the lumbering, shaggy brute exists.

That makes him an outcast -- a solitary, Sasquatch-like figure himself -- on the 12,700-student campus, where many scientists are embarrassed by what they call Meldrum's "pseudo-academic" pursuits and have called on the university to review his work with an eye toward revoking his tenure. One physics professor, D.P. Wells, wonders whether Meldrum plans to research Santa Claus, too.

Meldrum, 48, spends most of his days in his laboratory in the Life Sciences Building, analyzing more than 200 jumbo plaster casts of what he contends are Bigfoot footprints.

For the past 10 years, he has added his scholarly sounding research to a field full of sham videos and supermarket tabloid exposes. And he is convinced he has produced a body of evidence that proves there is a Bigfoot.
