If you don't wear it more than twice a year - you would probably be better off renting.

Depending on where you live, there will be various occasions where a tuxedo (aka dinner jacket ) will be appropriate attire.
Examples are:
- black tie Holiday and New Year's Eve events
- opening night galas of the opera, theatre and ballet
- formal weddings (usually appropriate after 5 p.m.)
- formal balls (My husband and I are ballroom dancers, so we usually go to at least 3-5 formal balls per year.)
- formal dinners, etc.
A tuxedo is a great investment piece. The styling is usually very classic, which means you can wear it for many years. In my opinion, it's better to own one than to rent, since the cost of renting can add up quickly. Besides, if you own it you can have it tailored, which will result in a better fit. I hope this information helps.

Weddings, black tie affairs, formal parties. Or you could be really romantic like on the soap opera's and prepare a fancy candle light dinner for your wife/girlfriend and wear it for that!
