We only eat cooked food because of the taste of the heat. If we have a natural aversion to eating something in its natural state we were not made to eat it, such as meat. Take 2 identical cans of soup. same ingriedients both taste the same, both have been cooked before canned, yet you would rather eat the one you heat up just for the taste of the heat, right?

many foods aside from meat require cooking. ever eat a raw potato? its awful. you cook them not only to improve taste, but also texture. texture is as important in enjoying food as taste is. the texture of almost all foods (including vegetables) improves with cooking. the only foods, generally speaking, that dont need any cooking whatsoever to improve them are fruits, so i guess that according to your theory, we are meant to eat fruit only.

ps-ever hear of steak tartare or sushi?

But both cans of soup have been cooked before canning. Cooking alters food, releases oils and other things .

Reheating, as you are describing does to a degree continue to release flavor that is just not accessible in cold food.
You think we are not meant to eat rice?Wheat? Tapioca, cactus?

Nope, can't agree.

I don't believe that heat has its own innate flavor but enhances and brings out the flavor of foods such as soups. Also there is the concern of bacteria. Botulism is a real fear!!!Heat it and kill the bugs!!!

This is cultural conditioning.Gazpacho and borscht can be eaten both hot or cold.Tea,milk or coffee can be drunk either hot or cold.Cold cuts are cooked or baked, cooled and then usually served cold.I don't think it has anything to do with intelligence.
