many people here seem angry by the fact that people don't have manners..for instance there were some guys here said their girls are not ladylike+should be..some others agreed.

then there was this other post about men not opening doors to women..and many people on there said that in "the good days" men used to treat women like ladies and then the women lib made them stop +it's very bad and that they miss the good days..etc

then i notice that there are a lot of stay at home moms..i know! i respect that but..

if you think about it.. back in "the good days", women had to act ladylike, they had to be gentle, the majority were stay at home moms and were just there to give birth..

my mother told me all about it..she had to wear skirts, learn how to cook+knit @ school and the boys took woodchop (50's+60's)..it's segregation!

i know it's not like that today and i have equal rights but many people miss the old days..and if so we might go back!

does this make sense or am i nutts?

You can have manners and respect for other people without giving up the right to wear jeans. I'm not too proud that I don't smile and say thank you when a man holds a door for me.

We women have had to give up a lot of "perks" of being women in the name of equal rights. I happen to like having the door held open for me and a man taking me out on a date and paying. I guess I am a bit old fashioned! However, we still aren't paid the same for doing the same exact job and I think that isn't right.

Well, men and women ARE different, EQUAL,but different. GOD made each sex unique. Some things men can do better and some things women can do better. About the ladylike thing, I try to be gentlemen-like, but many girls do not seem to want that. They tend to go for the smooth talking thug... PEACE and GOD bless!

I don't think we are going to be moving backward so rest easy. Good manners ...a way of giving respect to those around you and making them feel comfortable. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion.

These days, you have more opportunities than at any time in the past so step up and take your shot. Nothing to be afraid of. :)

ok look at the family structure now compared to the good old days.
look at America's children shooting people in school.
look at the % of divorce rates in this country now and single parents.
women are different than men.
They have a huge capacity for love.
they are sexier, made for birthing and nursing.
Maybe women had to wear skirts and chose to knit and make things as hobbies in their spare time as homemakers because it is a very healthy thing to do with their spare time, but let me ask you this.
Are we better off as a nation now that the women's lib came around teaching men to be spineless and women to take control of their own lives and that they have to have a career to be worth anything?
Or were we better off as a nation that had a solid family structure with a caring mother at home to support her family by feeding them loving them and taking care of their emotional needs and a working father to take care of them financially and both teaching them morals and work ethic etc...?
