I love to do 'different' things and have original ideas...I was thinking this year when I send out Christmas cards (My card list is fairly short, not hundreds of them to send out or anything.) I'd like to have some kind of crafty insert included inside of the card. To me, this would make it more interesting for the recipients rather than just opening it up and saying,'Oh another card, hang this one up', you know?
-Any cute ideas on what I could include as an insert? (Other than including a picture.) I'm pretty crafty and have alot of free time at work to do this.

GeeDebb, great idea! You have my creative juices flowing now, there's lots of ways I could use that. Thanks. All other suggestions are welcomed, too! Keep them coming. :)

good question
you could buy magnet sheets for your printer (avery products), and print out something on them that is unique to the person or family, or family pictures printed on them is great, or poems and objects. (these would fit nicely in the card, and you can print many on one sheet and cut out)
I once received a card that had a poem about a tree and a packet of seeds to grow a tree. (maybe some flower seeds also)
christmas ornaments that are flat or nearly flat.
like felt ornaments, or homemade cardboard ornaments.(cut christmas shapes from a cereal box, candy cane, tree, wreath etc., paint them and decorate to hang)
a bead craft, you know the ones made with saftey pins and beads that you can wear. (you could pin it in the card)
a little crocheted wreath or angel etc with a pin on the back to wear.
printable sticker pages for your printer. (send them stickers that are unique to them in some way) avery products.
make a small christmas puzzle, or picture puzzle, or make your own christmas crossword puzzle, or search and find(unique to the person)
embrodiery a hankie with their initials, etc.
include a cd of your family, one member can read the christmas story, one could sing a christmas song, one could recite a recipe, give holiday tips, the dog could bark a song, etc, lol.
have fun!!

Go online to the site for the Atlantic Spice Company and look for the heat sealable paper teabags. You can fill them with lavender or make up a christmas potpourri to put in the bags. They also have a receipe section ffor potpourris. When they open your card it will smell wonderful! Then everytime they smell it , they will be reminded of you.

I found the below link. However, you can make bookmarks for Christmas just get heavy duty paper and get Christmas stickers and draw Merry Christmas on it and insert that to them.

Making bookmarks with recylcled fabric, cardboard, and beads/stickers/scrapbook accessories so you can customize them for each recipient. Also, the same materials and sticky magnets can make fridge magnets for them. Have fun whatever you end up doing!
