is sacrifice of a living being against gods will

...."You must be born again. The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit."

I know this is in referrence to becoming Christian; but really, what does it even mean?

People aren't supposed to be able to tell where a Christian came from? Isn't it a useful witnessing tool when you can show some potential convert the crappy life you used to lead before you were born again?

And people also can't tell where a Christian is going? So that means when someone says that they're going to heaven... they're not truly born again?

I dunno, I think everyone who claims to be born again nowadays is missing Jesus' point. It sounds to me like he really wanted you to become ninjas.

Lilly made the following point :

"I know many people (scientists, doctors, lawyers, etc.) who are deeply religious. Einstein was devout. Would you claim him funny or stupid? I wouldn't. "

Now is this the same Einstein who said :

"A man's ethical behaviour should be based effectually on sympathy, empathy, education, common sense and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death. "

Why the bare faced lies ???????

I can't understand. Why do stores still use plastic bags when we all know they are terrible for the planet? After use, you see them smashed up against fences, swaying in trees and floating in streams. And they don't degrade. So why do they stll use them?

Is Islam a peaceful religion? And I mean in practise, history and with evidence, not just theory alone. Sure, anyone can preach something that sounds good, but what Islam is is really what its followers do. So in what way is Islam peaceful or not?

Why is it that if you ask a sexual question about something out of the ordinary, people cringe and accuse you of being sick and twisted? My wife and I for example, enjoy watersports. If you don't know what that is, it is sexual gratification from urinating on, being urinated on, or something along those lines. I don't understand why people get so hurt when they find out how other people decide to have their fun. Now just for fun sake, what kind of weird perversions do you all enjoy? Don't be shy, I know you're out there.

I know there are forces at work in Reality, that we understand as
the MASCULINE and FEMININE.
Our spirit is made of both these aspects. And humans struggle
to find this balance within them.
I know we are made of body, mind, and spirit. It is said the
first humans were hermaphrodite. Today, there are still
humans born with male and female genitalia. So one might have a body chemistry that leans toward gay or lesbian.
Also, there is not only the struggle within to maintain the
masculine and feminine forces. But it is said we live more than
once. And a spirit can live many lives as a female, and then
still feel as if it's a female, though now being male. And vice
versa!
I wonder though, if there isn't also a mind dimension at work.
In that one can be hurt badly by the opposite sex. And still want
to enjoy thier sexuality, and turn thier own.
What are your thoughts?

I am 62, yet I find many older people are anti-social and use their age as an excuse for bad manners.
Most of my friends are my age and find the same.
As a rule, I find younger people have better manners.

The total inert and conscious world (the universe) and the knowledge of its beginning to end is theme of spirituality. The improvement of the consciousness in the human being is possible through the spiritual knowledge only. The process of gaining spiritual knowledge is religion. Religion helps in the upliftment of human being from a mere living being to the divine stage. Knowing the truth and realizing it, is Wisdom.
BISMILLAHIRRAHMANIRRAHIMI. Let’s start with the name of the great Almighty of the universe and the non-material personality who is the creator of the universe. Almighty is one. This eternal existence which is one, is God. In different scriptures the right way to attain God has been described. The improvement out of them are (Gyan) wisdom yoga. Bhakti (loyal) yoga, karma (duty) yoga, and sahaj (simple) yoga, and raj yoga. The process of achieving the final destination of religion is called “yoga”. According to which a person can experience the divine form of himself. The scriptures have divided into Hinduism, Sikhism, Christianity, Islamic etc. All these are principles which are associated with our mature conscience, and these are produces of it. Those who believe in Geeta,, Veda and mythology are called Hindus. Adapters of Guru granthsahib are the Sikhs. Believers of “Koran” are called Muslims. Believers of “Torah” are called Jews. And the believers of ‘angels’ are called Christians. Sabai are those people who used to believe in the angles and used to respect “hajarat ibrahim” also.
Vedas, Vedvyas, Balmiki, Buddha, Mahavir, Mohammed, Jesus, Kabir, Nanak are the original path shower to us. Later on their followers and the saints like Sankaracharya, Tussidas, Guru Govind Singh, Guru Ghasidas, Satyasai Baba, Lord Chaitanya, Dada Lekhraj, Anibesant, Dayanand Saraswati, S. Ramdas, Shriramkrishna Paramhansa, Shri Ramsharma “Acharya”. Rajnish (OSHO) etc. became teacher, path shower and the messenger of peace to us. They are the persons who taught us the reality of life. They taught us to overcome the hurdles in life. They also tried to open the facts of life, death, and the entanglements faced after death. Every one of us know and respect above those, but why don’t we abide by the path shown by them, why ? If you are being questioned which religion you believe in, then you name a religion too quickly. But do you really believe in that religion ? if you understand it well, then have you ever tried to go with it? If you have tried so, then why are not you successful ? why this discontentment ? Why this fear and misery ?
The answer is-you have faith neither in yourself nor in your religion. If you had faith in it, you would not have overlooked it. The reason behind it is that, your conscience does not allow you to believe in a matter imposed on you. Wise people with imposed knowledge have described distorted meaning of all realities. Here, not the religion but the ignorance of the persons explaining is should be blamed. Your religion is true, but you neither obey to it nor you try to know about it, because the satan inside you (selfishness) dominating your humanity. And it is more powerful then the later. These are those “Yahoba” and the black cobra of lord Krishna, who have gripped us from the roots. This is the origin of our mirage, fear, sorrows, wickedness, laziness, jealousy, arrogance, anger, and violence are the father of all flaws.
You take away the happiness of others for your own happiness. You blame the almighty when you get tortured by others. What have you done in you life ? you lived for yourself, you snatched away the happiness of others for your own happiness. Today you are troubled and disturbed. Now you posses nothing even after having every thing. You cannot eat or sleep properly. How many people are happy with you ? Love you ? Respect you ? you are defeated in every aspect of life. You will be in a misery all your life, and after death – what you do not want______________? What did you get from the people who you thought to be you own, for whom you sacrificed whole of you life, whole of your happiness, whole of your desire and every thing ? You can never get anything, Because in an intention to satisfy one, haven’t you possibly put some other in a grief ? Ask the Satan inside you. You are building temples, mosque, churches and gurudwara snatching others bread away, and thinking you got atonement for all sins committed by you. No, till your good deeds do not dominate the bad deeds, the discontent ness will never spare you.

yet they represent up to 10-16 percent of the general population.

sample : "of those executed for murder 65% were
Catholics, 26% Protestants, 6% Hebrew, 2% Pagan, and less than 1/3 of 1%
non-religious."

Now I thought that it was us non religious folk who were the ones with no sense of morality yet we make up a tiny proportion of the prison population compared to our general numbers.

To put it simply

78 % of the US population is christian and 84 % of the prison population is christian yet 10-16 % of the US population is non religious yet they ony represent 0.3 % of the prison population.

Why do you think this is so ?

Surely all the "nasty" secular people should have a disproportionate amount in prisons.
