Lilly made the following point :

"I know many people (scientists, doctors, lawyers, etc.) who are deeply religious. Einstein was devout. Would you claim him funny or stupid? I wouldn't. "

Now is this the same Einstein who said :

"A man's ethical behaviour should be based effectually on sympathy, empathy, education, common sense and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death. "

Why the bare faced lies ???????

being religious does not mean we agree about everything or anything much. Einstien said this The creator does not roll dice. He believed there is a creator, that makes him a person who believes in God. The fact that he did not agree with the heaven hell scenario does not mean he was an atheist. You are either spreading a lie or you are misinformed about what religion is. Einstien was devout, you on the other hand have not been loved as well as you would have liked so I will hope you receive what you need.

The statement you quoted is Einstein stating that personal accountability is important. Education is important and awareness of how your actions affect others is important. He did not say that he didn't believe in God.

In fact, he DID believe in the possibility of God.

Why does that fact threaten you so much?

Possibly because those with a higher intellect than you found reasons to have faith?

Get over yourself. If you don't want to believe in anything more powerful than your big mouth then you go for it. I'm sure as Hell not going to stop you.

I would suggest however that you research more in to his life though and take all of it rather than just the parts you like.

Quote:

"Scientists were rated as great heretics by the church, but they were truly religious men because of their faith in the orderliness of the universe." Albert Einsein

Quote:

As to what one could believe in, the answer was simple enough. “I believe in the brotherhood of man and the uniqueness of the individual. But if you ask me to prove what I believe, I can't. You know them to be true but you could spend a whole lifetime without being able to prove them. The mind can proceed only so far upon what it knows and can prove. There comes a point where the mind takes a higher plane of knowledge, but can never prove how it got there. All great discoveries have involved such a leap.” Albert Einstein (last thoughts)
