I can't understand. Why do stores still use plastic bags when we all know they are terrible for the planet? After use, you see them smashed up against fences, swaying in trees and floating in streams. And they don't degrade. So why do they stll use them?

Because they are cheaper than paper bags. The stores will only change to something more expensive if the customers demand it.

Once an evil is invented it will take its toll. Man can only invent. He cannot undo the invention or its evil effects. If you think deeply you will find that from the time gun powder was discovered to the present making of atomic weapons all inventions have systematically enhanced the destructive power of man. He has no choice in this matter it is only a question of time before he wipes out himself.
This is inevitable.

they have handles. i know locally we can put all of our recyclables in blue bags, and the grocery stores generally use blue bags. i don't think though there is a good reason why we use them enviromently, its just convient.
