Can we expect that God will get as ****ed off as he was just before the flood, and go back to the drawing board again?
Who would be on the "Ark"?

pangel-yes it was 6:6 specifically, But 6:5 when he started thinking about it, my mistake.
And to Megmom, I have spent quite a while reading the bible, & no I haven't picked up ideas from others willy nilly. The point of the question was not to show up inconsistencies within the bible, you can do that 'til they cows come home, and it's a pretty pointless exercise once you get the jist of it.
To Little Sister-what a refreshing attitude you have to your faith, and it was a genuine question -not any intention to offend.as I seem to have some.

well i don't think its wrong to look at the Bible to see if its true, i'm a christain and i understand the need to read the Bible and to decide if it is the word of God or not, and if atheists are reading it and finding problem then christain should listen. Okay God says he made a mistake, so will God make another mistake? Its a fair question.

God did NOT make a mistake, God knows everything from beginning to the end, Satan was a highest angel in heaven until iniquity was found in him, do you thank that took God by surprise, NO, God already knew that would happen, Nothing takes God by surprise or off guard, therefore By his foreknowledge, knowing all things from beginnig to the end, he can predesinate any person or event, Read verse 6 also And it repented the Lord------, God does not need to repent, Yes God does have feelings, why do you thank he would send his only son to die for us. But God does not need to repent, The Bible says Grieve not the Holy Ghost & the Holy Ghost is none other than the Spirit of God. Therefore God gave eveything a free will but knowing what path that person will take, God by his foreknowledge could Predestinate that person or event. Nothing sneeks upon God, God desires to be worship, Nature even worship God, So God has a plan for everything & nothing takes him by surpise, nice try in trying to take one verse out of context & try to make people thank God goof up, I am one of those Christian that can not be persuaded by A mis-understanding quote of the bible without looking at the over all plan of God.

The rainbow was God's promise that He wouldn't flood the earth anymore.
Did you read the whole Bible, pick that verse out, and are concerned whether you will be on the Ark? or did you see this question somewhere, not bothering to look it up and ask someone else's interpretation?
God provided an "Ark" for all of us, named Jesus. If you're worried about God's mistakes or being destroyed.....hop on the "Ark", you just have to "cross" over the bridge!

God is omnipotent and cannot make a mistake, the language of genesis is adapted to mans understanding,so God is telling of his heartache at mans infidelity and refusal to obey which is a constant theme of mans relationship with God, but because of Gods love and mercy He is always holding out His arms in the hope of mans return to its creator.
there will never be another flood as in the time of noah as God has promised, but can we really believe that we can carry on with the filth that pervades our world without God having to intervene in some way? God is mercy itself but he is also just.

Oh, but God doesn't make mistakes. Obviously the verse you're referring to is meant as a metaphor, or poetic license or something.
If God said that he regretted making humaity, what he really meant, and what was poorly translated by Moses, was that he was getting bored with the ones who were around at that time... so he wanted so shake things up. See now? This means God is still perfect... a perfect a$$hole.

How foolish do you have to be to think for even a second, that you are in a position to judge GOD?????????
HE does not need your affirmation or approval, He is the creator of ALL that exists--by an act of His will and His spoken word.

Appartently the church can say he didn't make any more. Hell the church can do whatever they want, because for some twisted reason they still think they are getting past Peter at the gates...
