if a Christian sins, like molests a child, or has an affair, or robs a bank, its ok coz they can ask for forgiveness from God, and God is their only judge.
If a non- believer does the same thing, what excuse can they use? if i do something bad i take FULL responsibility for my action, i dont make excuses.

I was walking through the parking lot of my apartment complex the other day, when a 2- or 3-year-old girl said, "Hi!" to me. Her mother immediately said, "Don't say hi to people you don't know!" Isn't this a little extreme?

Yep! Greek Orthodox, Armenians, Roman Catholics, Copts, Ethiopians and Syrian Orthodox could not decide which of them should have the key to this very important Christian landmark Church in Jersusalem, so they gave it to a prominent Palestinian Muslim family (two families actually).

http://www.atlastours.net/holyland/holy_sepulcher.html

Remember, Muslim control of the key, however, does not mean Muslim control of the Church.

No point to me made here. Just wondering if you knew this...There is hope for peace in the world...

For what can you call what is happening in Iraq in the first decade of the twenty-first century anything but genocide, the complete and systematic decimation – the annihilation – of an entire culture, of an entire society, of an entire nation? What do you call the death, by violent American murderers, state sponsored terrorism, American birthed civil war, of 655,000 human beings if not mass murder, genocide, the genesis of Holocaust? Two to three percent of the Iraqi population has been exterminated, never to breathe life again, never to see children grow up, never to see mothers give birth or see fathers become proud grandfathers. Two to three percent of Iraq’s people lie six feet under, buried under the massive and monstrous American military machine. If two to three percent of America was killed in the span of three years, a number reaching 6 to 9 million individuals, what would happen to the United States?

I live in America where I can practice my religion as I please(which is, ironically impossible in every Muslim country except for Yemen where my sect, the Zaidyyah sect is dominant). So Muslims can practice their faith in the west without any restrictions, yet in Muslim nations, Christians and Jews(and Baha'is and others) cannot practice in freedom or share their religion.

Should not the US government pressure the Saudis ? The Saudis give out thousands of copies of the quran in the US without any problem, yetnot a single bible is allowed to come into Saudi Arabia ?

And: How do you write, "How old are you?"?

Refugees invade another country they say to improve their life. But in actually what is happening is they bring the things they are running away from with them and lower the standard of the country they have adopted. Shouldn't they stay in their own country and improve that?

i was just watching X-men the last stand. and i notice that it's like homosexuality and mutants are quite similiar.

1) People hated and feared them.
2) some believes them to be a disease
3) there is a lot of insecurities between the people.

now only difference is that x-men are ones with powers. homosexuals are just human.

I have experienced quite a few premonitions. Some major, some minor... some serious some amusing...

They are not deja-vu. Some have been about car accidents, graduations, knowing people at uni before I had gone, etc... And no, I'm not wierd... They just happen!! :D

Just wondered about your opinion on them... Have you ever experienced any? Do you believe they happen? Has someone ever explained a premonition they have had? What was it and what was your response??

The violent sects of Islam which are, unfortunately dominant. There are three sects of Islam: Zaidi(which I am honored to be an Imam of), Sufi, and Submitters-aka Quran only which are peaceful and renounce terrorism while the Sunnis make excuses for Bin Laden and Al qaeda and the Shiites make excuses for Hezbollah and their friends.

True Islam is peace. But less than 1% follow the peaceful deens. The other 99%+ follow the violent way of the caliphs. "Extremist" muslims are not in the minority as Bush and friends say-they are the "normal Muslims." It is peace loving Muslims such as my sect who are the "fringe" and condemned by the majority of "Muslims".

I'm western and to be honest I hate to see women wearing the veil.

To me this is why: Face to face communication is part of our culture and is important to us westerners. Its linked with honesty, openness and being able to communicate effectively. In contrast, covering the face signifies duplicity, deceit and the like. Theives and robbers cover their faces.

If you are ill, worried and being treated by a doctor explaining what is wrong with you and how you are to be treated, you surely want to see her face, to take comfort from a smile or a reassuring expression, to see the sincerity on her features. How can you do this through a piece of black cloth?

I would hate to be treated by a veiled doctor, have my child taught by a veiled teacher or plead my case to a veiled judge. I couldn't do it. Same as covering their face is part of their culture, face to face communication is part of mine.

Does anyone else feel this way about this issue?

2006-10-19 12:18:45 · 12 answers · asked by Eric G 2 in Religion & Spirituality

Everyday thousands and thousands of people die from cancer.
Everyday on this Yahoo!forum at least one person says "Jesus is real, cause he cured my cancer!".

To me this last statement has always been one of the most arrogant statements I've ever heard. How can a person assume to be so important that some Higher Power picked him/her, cured his/her cancer, and at the same day lets thousands of others die from that same disease?

So either God/Jesus is very picky, or He simply doesn't cure cancer. I can't see how either of both options could ever be proof of a loving God.

Anybody can explain to me how this should be an example of a God that is Love?
