This is what disturbs me about independent, charismatic, Christian churches. The money they collect isn't going to some larger organization or overseen by anyone, it is usually controlled by a person, family or small group. Too often it shows up in expensive cars and suits and other perks for the "minister." Sounds more like a business than a church to me. And a tax free business at that. But hey, it's capitalism. They must be selling something the people want.

You`re too wrapped up in your earthly wishes . A Christian Church supports missionaries throughout the world to eliminate sickness and poverty . They go without the comforts you enjoy here at home, with no pay , only the support from the Church for food and cover . Churches sponsor " Rescue Missions` here where men and women can come in from their addictions to get a new start in life , all sponsored by the members of a Church with their donations ..By the way , what do you do to help the "poor "???? Some of your desires for the Church to handle , seems to be a " lack of parenting " problem. Anyone who comes to the Church , and ask for help , if they are truly in need , they will get help !! How many homeless people are you expecting ?? In 5 years at your figures , there would be 25,000 homeless shelters ,thats` 500 for each state in the USA , when does this end , and why does it go on , this isn`t a country where there is no opportunity ??? 1 million Inner city youths have the chance to go to A Christian " Sunday " School one day a week , but they don`t , so why do you think they would go to a Christian school 5 days a week ????? Every "poor " child in American is how many ?? Where do you pull these numbers out of a hat at ??? If you don`t object to a basketball player , a movie star , or a drug dealer driving a cadillac , why a Pastor ??

Why pick on churches. If all Americana's who don't go to church would give to these charties we could do more than just what you mentioned. But it is easier to blame someone else for all the problems than accept you may be part of the problem. America is the greatest nation on earth today and we still have alot of room improve. Be a part of the solution and try to fix problems not just point fingers. By the way my pastor drives a Honda minivan not a Cadillac. Why is it so bad for a pastor to drive a Cadillac but not other professional people.

and do you know that roughly 30% goes to their various organizations FOR homeless rehab centers, education programs, feeding and other chairtable works within their own communities. 6% goes to the diocese as a whole for tehir charities....
i think it's more inportant for the education and rehabilitation programs then just the hand out of a shelter -- why wouldn't you be keen enough to say rehab centers -- people in voilent, drug or abandonment don't need just a shelter they need a place to regroup and reconnect they they can rejoin the society as a whole.

then you have to ask yourself where the church is spending those dollars,................... some of it is going to the homeless, some of it is being used to feed the poor. As for the those pastors making money out of the church, isn't it the same as any other religion where they leaders seem to be well off. I don't see any staving mullahs, rabbis, moffuttis or priests

5% of my income goes to my actual Church, 5 % goes to various charities and then there is another unkown amount I give to whoever is asking for it at the time. I do not ever walk away from a Charity that is asking for assistance if I have any money on me.
Are you not aware that the majority of Christians give to these and other charities?

Should have, could have, would have. Americans spend 160 million a year on golf balls. You know how many houses you could build with that? Its called Capitalism where the people decide to use their money the way they want. Why don't you get familiar with it before you start throwing out judgments

My bishop doesn't get paid by being a bishop. He supports himself and his family with a regular job.
I do agree with you, though, that there are probably some church leaders who are selfish and in it only for the money.
