My concern is more about feelings, thoughts, and brain power. Please don't mix this with any religion.

Where was it? Who did the music? Why did it mean so much to you? What was the biggest thing? What songs touched you the most?
Did it have any lasting influence on your life?

My kids, 13 and 9 are asking for such expensive things. My 13 year old wants a sidekick 3, Uggs boots, North Face jacket, a video game, perfume and a coach bag (it would have to be a fake one). My son wants a MP3 player, games for his PSP, Nintendo Lite DS, games for that and a pair of Heely's. Is this too much? I need another job just to pay for those things. Name the things your kids want and what you plan on getting and not. Thanks :)

At the college I attend, it is only against the rules for a student to date a professor who is teaching a class he or she is currently enrolled in. I have developed a friendship with one of my professors and yesterday we were discussing a paper I had written. He suggested that, after the semester finishes, we could see each other in a non-academic setting. I am completely enamored with this man and would gladly date him, but I worry that the odds are against us in regards to a relationship. He is young for a professor, but is still twelve years older than I am. I worry that the stages of life that we are each in, respectively, are too different for us to maintain a relationship. I also worry that our families and friends would be less than understanding about our relationship due to the age difference. Is this situation worth pursuing even if it entails the possibility of becoming a pariah?

I recently moved to a new state and made some new friends. I met this girl who happens to be in the military, she is young and she's been in for almost a year. She has a relationship with a girl which she has been in for a little over 2 years. Her partner is very supportive of her and always thinks positively. But, my friend is constantly thinking about her future and she likes the military so far and it offers her so much, but she doesn't know if she could hide who she really is and her partner, for a career or even a 2nd enlistment. She is really struggling and I don't know what advice to offer her. This career could bring so much to her life, but it could also put a hard strain on her very important relationship. Again, her partner is very supportive in whatever she does, but she knows it will be a tough life if she keeps hiding. PLEASE do not answer if you are homophobic or whatever, I just want honest answers of people who have some good advice. Thank-you.

My aunt calculated that she has to pay $100 as Zakaat (Charity) this year. But getting this money to the hands of poor people and relatives, it will cost her another $15. Will this additional cost of $15 be paid from the amount of Zakaat? Or it's separate from the actual Zakaat?

i already mentioned in a question i asked in the past that i have nothing against gays and that i'm really interested in this subject without an explanation really, i will always support gays.
it's a question to everyone, but indyT, you especially seem to be protective of that subject
why do you think that people are out there to get you?
i don't know you, you might have had personal experiances. i could never know what it's like, unless i'll turn out biosexual.
but i don't think there is a need to be so over protective, because it's really the minority of peope in my opinion that are homophobes.
isn't it better to just look at everything more positivly?

whenever i try to do things, i often do them all over again and again. for example, if iam trying to fix a bicycle chain, i do it perfectly the first time, but sooner i feel that i need to redo it again from the start, and i pull the fixed chain off and mess with it. the same happens with computer, when i dowload something for the first time, i remove it instantly fearing it's not proper. i redo everything, and don't always succeed and i regret first chance. how to overcome this problem?

'Surely, they have disbelieved who say: "Allah is the Messiah ['Iesa (Jesus)], son of Maryam (Mary)." But the Messiah ['Iesa (Jesus)] said: "O Children of Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Verily, whosoever sets up partners in worship with Allah, then Allah has forbidden Paradise for him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers) there are no helpers.

Surely, disbelievers are those who said: "Allah is the third of the three (in a Trinity)." But there is no ilah (god) (none who has the right to be worshipped) but One Ilah (God -Allah). And if they cease not from what they say, verily, a painful torment will befall the disbelievers among them.

Will they not repent to Allah and ask His Forgiveness? For Allah is OftForgiving, Most Merciful.' (Qur'an 5:72-74)

They used to use them to take down small game and I believe even kangaroos. It consisted of 3 round weights (balls, stones) and string connecting them. They were tossed to either choke the prey or wind around their legs to prevent them from moving. What are these things called and can anyone give some sites about them (maybe Wikipedia?) Thanks in advance.

We're having a costume party at our house the Saturday before Halloween. I think we have enough booze, just bought a karaoke machine, got a fogger to lure the shy out into our living room dance floor, and lots of Halloween decorations. Looking for any tips to make sure we have a great party.

Note: god with lower-case 'g'. The concept doesn't deserve higher.

Now to the point. Putting most of my strange beliefs aside for a moment, I know all aspects of existence of which I'm aware are cyclic, so its not absurd to believe that those I cannot directly experience should be as well. There are no beginnings or ends, as all things loop back on themselves and undergo constant transition (lets leave the third law of thermodynamics out of this for the moment).

Perhaps the strangest of all these is the whole of existence itself. Because it is all things and there is nothing that it is not... it cannot be defined / described. Definition requires comparison to an alternative, and there can be no valid alternative or contrary to everythingness. The concept of nothingness is just the 'lack' of things, rather than an opposite of any.

Hence... if the theists' "god" is omnipresent, omnipotent, etc... If he is everything, then he lacks any definition and is entirely redundant. ^_^
