Now, I couldn't be sure. But I moved to Dallas (Actually a place called Richardson, just outside of Dallas.) back in the very early 80's I dressed as I did in when I lived in NY. When I went on job interviews I was surprised to see mostly pot bellied men in hats and boots. I did not get a job until I polished my "Southern" accent and wore jeans, Justin boots, and a Resistol 5X beaver hat. They knew from my accent that I was not from Texas, but between the clothes and the fake accent I was finally able to get a job. I hated it anyway and joined the service. All the same clothes, and many different accents. No need to fake anything. (Except for being fond of push-ups!)

The boots can handle the whole cowboy & make a attitude statement at the same time. LOL! Amazing things those cowboy boots. In Texas you can tell a lot about a cowboy by the type & condition of his boots! Many Blessings!

When I was a teenager, I worked at a well known southern amusement park, and people were always amazed when they visited from up north or out west that we were wearing shoes, so I know where you are coming from.
Peace.

They do at the rodeo.
Are you in an urban or rural setting?
Western clothing is very popular in the rural parts of Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, etc.

I don't think it. Because it's not true. I know this for a fact. Very few if any Texans dress like that.

no. i'm from florida. but i don't think that they dress like oldtime western cowboys. they're just normal american people. aint nothing different about them. it's the same way people think that us floridians are known to just go to the beach and live a nice "tropical" life. . .well they are wrong!
