Please stop with the bashing and name calling. If you want to degrade evolution than do it right.

Reasons people have to bash the theory of evolution.

1. If evolution is real than why are monkeys and apes still around shouldn't they evolve to humans now?

Answer: We did not evolve from a monkey, that’s a common misconception. Modern monkeys and great apes are from a different branch in the evolutionary tree than us. So they will never evolve into humans EVER.

2. I can’t think of myself as a monkey!

Answer: We are not really monkeys; we share a common ancestor with other apes and share almost identical DNA with them. Australopithecus is close to a common ancestor from apes to man. Through time we evolve a bigger brain and slowly (millions of years) change from Homo habilis to Homo erectus to Cro Magnon (early humans) than to Homo sapiens (ancient man) than finally to Homo sapiens sapiens (modern man). There are solid fossil evidences to back up these claims.

3. What is evolution you ask? And how does it work?

Answer: Do notice that when you have children all of them are sort of similar but also very different. If humans didn’t have the technology that enable us to have superior survival odds, than we would have to play Darwin’s survival of the fitness game. Let’s say your brother has horrible vision, his chance of surviving and reproducing is very slim. If your born with a mutation that allows you to see at night but disables morning vision than you will be nocturnal. If you can survive and pass your genes to the next generation, than you’ll make a new species that are nocturnal. That’s basically what evolution boils down to.

What do you think about evolution now? I used logical reasonable explanations that can be proved. Please don’t turn your backs on science because it gets in the way of your faith.

I was hard pressed to believe in Tarot cards but I was given a free reading by a friend. She said I was have a run-in w. the law and a death card was drawn. Within the next month I got pulled over for speeding and my mother-in law died. Now I'm not sure what to think.. kinda strange for a coincidence, or maybe not. What are your experiences?

what i or anyone else believes?
if your secure in your faith then why belittle, and condem everyone else's faith.
why can't you just leave those who don't believe as you do alone and live your life in peace and let us live ours.
this goes for everyone of every faith.

I know they are two different issues, but I have not spent time in the religion & spirituality forum before... and I'm just wondering if people get very hate filled back and forth, or if the people that believe in God just rise above that like they are better than everyone... or? I could spend some time here to figure it out... but I think I like the funner subjects, like Polls and Surveys. LOL.

I heard today that there was a preacher/prophet in like the World's Largest Church in Asia in the 1980s that prophesied that there would be a great revival to break out in Northern Alabama. Can anybody tell me who, where, and where i can find some info about it?

Obviously god is a being that just likes to pretend to be an authority...while we all know that the 10 commandments are more like simple requests, requests which can easily be ignored...requests which obviously even Christians ignore.

80% of Americans claim to be christian, so does that mean that the billions of dollars a year porn industry is supported by only a mere 20% of Americans? Is it only atheists who murder and steal and cheat on their spouse? That must be it, certainly christians would not ignore the authority of their god when he is issuing commands would they?

Either that or about 75% of those people who claim to be christians are merely sinners in disguise and the 10 commandments are worthless crap to be ignored...what do you think?

If a General in the army issues commands and the majority of troops ignore the commands...wouldn't the General be a failure???

Are Christians who are pro-gay rights exercising independent judgement?

We need look no further than 1 Corinthians 6:9 where it states that gay people will not inherit the kingdom of GOd, we read in Leviticus 18:22 that gay sex is an abomination to God.

Now, I'm married to a Catholic woman, whose brother is a gay man.

My wife is exercising independent judgement of the Bible in supporting gay rights.

I applaud my wife in this decision.

So, is it possible that there are other Christians, who have a conscience and don't get their morality or politics from the Bible?

Is this wrong of me. I feel like my praying all the time is just asking a bunch of things of God. I feel like it's disrespectful. I have issues to work out, but I feel like I need to return so much of a favor, which I plan to if I turn out the way I'm hoping.

My church is planning a week of revival services. We're really focusing on praying for God's healing on our church, community, and just our country in general. I just wanted to ask other Christians on here to pray along with us. I, along with the members of the church I attend, really believe that if Christians turn to God in prayer and ask for His blessing on our country, He will hear our prayer and heal us. I remember parts of it, like where it says to beat your wife if she disagrees with you, and the part where Mohammad tells his gullible band of militant fools to kill anyone who won't accept Islam, and the part where Mohammad tells his gullible band of militant fools not to make a friend with a Jew or a Christian.
