Don't know who this Jim Darwin is but he doesn't know his Greek Mythology. Pandora opened the "Pandora's Box" releasing all the misfortunes on mankind. She closed it just in time to keep HOPE in the box.

So if the question pose will allow HOPE to be released and both the Christians and Atheists (regardless of who might really start the attack) come to an reasonable resolution. So...what's your concern about a mythical box being opened?

So far I haven't seen many reasonable answers presented by the evolution crowd. I know they have some I just haven't encountered them in here yet. But I'm in here infrequently I may have just missed them. I can't say I have seen anyone attack atheist communities. Strong disagreement isn't the same as attacking. But I have to admit some of the questions I see some of the atheist community show a lack of sincerity which I hope isn't how they handle their own personal search for truth.

And what exactly does Pandora's box in this instance contain dear Jim?

Atheists and Christians will always have something to battle over whether it be intellectualism, morality or reality, the box remains the same regardless of whom opens it.

"HOPE", springs eternal in the hearts of men!

Or, should that be, in the Atheist communities conscience.

A box well opened!

No for several reasons:
a) Christians do not believe in the pagan mythology of Pandora.
b) Athiests in striking similarity do not either.
c) If such box were to exist and open, then the delicate gift of hope emerges. Where hope abides, attacks would be muted if not absent both in perception and intent.
