It sounds like a cliche' and too simplistic an answer but I try to ground myself and focus on my blessings, all the Lord has given me and blessed me with. I think about how much worse my life could be, then I close my eyes an offer up prayers of only thankgiving.

Doing this always helps me forget my worries if they are trivial. If they are not trivial, I will pray and talk to Father in Heaven as if he were right there in the room. Then when I am done venting I try to be still and feel what may come to my mind and feel for answers to my troubles.

Unless you dig deep within yourself to find the root cause of this worry , you will not be abble to get over it at all. Moreover, if you want to "FORGET" your worries you cannot and even if it happens buy some means you will forget the pleasurable parts too. .

You can only overcome your worries.

If the cause of the worry is "external " to you ( e.g. Iraq war!) there is nothing you can do about it. If the cause is internal you can catch the worry by the neck , if you try. Also do not club together all the worries at the same time. take one by one and handle them

I really don't think we will/can ever "forget" the worries of life. Worries of life is like a 24/7 duty for us. We just have to learn how to deal with these worries by changing our bad habits and by being optimistic about life.

I myself am a worrier, this has cause me health problems and depression. My husband subscribed to a little book called Our Daily Bread. In this book was an article "Hope for the blues" it was printed in the month of August on the 7th of 2006. You can go on line to their website and read this for your self, but here is a little information that was in the article: When we feel darkness begin to close in on us, we need to turn to Jesus, the Light. He will be a refuge (Psalm 62:7&8)and will give us the strength to keep going. Light up your heart through prayer. Light up your mind with the truth which is God's holy word. You won't stumble in the dark if you walk in the light of God's word.
Check out Romans 12:2 and Psalm 46:1; Let his truth challengen, permeate, & transform your incorrect thinking that life is hopeless. I keep this page on my bathroom mirror everyday I read it to remind me I am not alone and that I do not have to worry as long as I trust in God and his word.

Our worries come from the darkness and we can gain strenght over them through Jesus and the word. God Bless you and I will be praying that the worries in your life will not consume you but give you what you need to seek the light and stand up and fight.
Don't give in to the dark fight fight fight!
