Us aggies 'just don't know'.
There is too much malarkey in organized religeous dogma that flys in the face of logic.
On the other hand - what if...,?
So we just don't know. And instead of 'faking it' we - at least some of us - 'believe' in the Golden Rule.
(And if you don't like it - you can go to hell!) Come ON! It's a joke.

Theism/atheism and gnosticism/agnosticism is the difference between belief and knowledge. I think this guy explains it pretty well:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ncCNwbb5Jc
There is also a difference between strong and weak agnosticism. I think the Yahoo! Answers user "spamandham" said it well in one of his answers.
"There is such a thing as weak and strong agnosticism. Strong agnosticism is simply traditional agnosticism, which is a claim that nothing can be known about god.
Weak agnosticism is simply a statement that the individual knows nothing about god, but does not claim that such knowledge is impossible to know.
Of these two, weak agnosticism is the only one that withstands criticism. Strong agnosticism is inconsistent because it implicitly assumes one of only two possibilities;
1) No gods exist
2) A god or gods exist, but we can not know anything about them
Clearly both of these implications require the very knowledge that the strong agnostic says can not be obtained. Based on nothing at all, they have rejected the possibility that a god or gods exist, and that they are in fact knowable.
But Jim, here's the rub. If you say "I take no position on the existence or nonexistence of gods" then you are NOT a theist, which is all that the word 'atheist' necessarily implies.
If you are an agnostic, but not an agnostic theist, you are in fact an atheist in both practice and in definition. You simply are not a strong atheist. You make not like it, and you may reject the title because it is so universally misunderstood, but it doesn't change the fact that gods play no role in your life."

It's hard to say because it has so many varying degrees. I consider myself agnostic, and I believe that I just don't know whether or not a higher conscious exist. I do believe that religions are false, but for all I know, Jesus really was the son of God, and I'm going to Hell. However, I also don't believe in freewill so I can't help what I'm destined for.

Agnostic means that you accept all religions as being possible. Agnostics do not tell others what they should believe.... they do not usually give preference to any one religion over another.
They are totally comfortable with admitting that they do not know the answers to questions like "Where does your soul go when you die?"
I am an agnostic that believes in God but favors Buddhism....
I resent it when conservative Christians say that I am "Godless" because I don't buy into their religious dogma.
I will just wait and see.... that's really all we can do. Which brings me to point # 2 -
Agnosticism should be considered a religion unto itself for political reasons.... we have not "failed to make a decision". We agnostics, have made a decision that we usually stick to... the decision to remain exempt.

An agnostic is a truly objective person when it comes to religion. For they do not deny or confirm the existence of God or religious dogma. An agnostic believes that no one can know these things, think of them as a humble atheist, not so pompous as to say that God does not exist, but not so pompous as to say that God does.

What you're talking approximately does exist. this is the end results of a mutation, in all probability initially from inbreeding populations of cats. i've got seen this in Louisiana, close to Springfield. The vendors had 2 cats initially, brother and sister and actually irresponsibly allowed them to reproduce, and proceed to reproduce, on and on, and on. many of the kittens on the valuables had this extraordinary "dwarfism" element taking place the place all of their legs have been shorter than they could desire to have been. some had regularly occurring back legs and short front legs like what you're talking approximately. seek for Munchkin cats - those originated in Louisiana. for sure the mutation that motives the quick legs can bring about ordinary terms the front ones each and every so often.

Agnostic means a person believes there may be a God, but does not believe anything proves His existence, or, that He cannot be known. And it's not a dumb question, it's a good one. *smile*

While an atheist does not believe in God an agnostic honestly doesn't know whether God exists or not.

An Agnostic all come from the state of Missouri.
You have to Show Them, before they believe (that's the Missouri cliche phrase-- the Show Me state).
King Herod was an agnostic.
If Jesus would turn his glass of water into wine walk across his pool, he said he would have let JEsus go.
Scientists are all agnostics.
So, you invented cold fusion. Well, here's a glass of water, run the lights in this city for 5 minutes by using it as fuel!
Show me!
