I know they are two different issues, but I have not spent time in the religion & spirituality forum before... and I'm just wondering if people get very hate filled back and forth, or if the people that believe in God just rise above that like they are better than everyone... or? I could spend some time here to figure it out... but I think I like the funner subjects, like Polls and Surveys. LOL.
I appreciate your input.

While the fight between Atheists and Christians is often comparable to the fight between Democrats and Republicans, it need not be. The fight between Democrats and Republicans is pointless, merely fighting to fight in order to try and fool someone into voting for them. As a Christian, it is not my concern that someone else becomes Christian. My sole concern for this person is that they lead a good life such that they will be able to enter heaven. Most Christians are so concerned with convincing everyone that their views are right that they don't stop to live their beliefs. If people are loving, there need be no fight between Atheists and Christians. The Christians should follow the words of St. Francis of Assisi "Preach the gospel and if necessary use words" and try to save souls and not just convince others of their beliefs.

I agree with charmaine f. The fight is between good and evil, not Christians vs. Atheists. As far as the Democrats and Republicans go, they are both evil as far as I am concerned.

I certainly hope not. Our country was founded on the principle of separation of church and state. I respect everyone's right to believe what they want, but I strongly oppose the recent trend to insert religion into politics. It is leading us down a dangerous path. If you don't agree, be careful what you wish for. When this country was founded it was the religous that wanted religion to be separate from the government, because they didn't want the government interfering with their right to religious freedom.

It is not for Christians to fight against atheists...just like Christ did not fight against those who crucified Him. Christians just want everyone to know how awesome our Lord is and are willing to even take a few insults to do so if neccessary...

No, the fight is not between Christians and Atheists; the fight is between good and evil.

me too-LOL-i am Christian, but don't count myself better than anyone;the "fight" between any two sides of any issue do have all the similarities though--you got the elephants tromping and the donkeys braying...when debate is over all that's left is the trash

No, the fight between Democrats and Republicans is more like the fight between good(D) an Evil(R).

The fight between Atheist and Christians is more like the fight between Lenox Lewis and Rocky Balboa, one is real and one is fictional.

There is no comparison, see the Christian know his battle is not with flesh and blood but with principalities and satanic powers.
An atheist cannot win this battle, GOD has given Christians power of all of satans schemes, lies and abilities.

It isn't a war between flesh and blood. It is a war with spiritual wickedness, in high places. The light and the darkness. And the light, of course, will in time prevail.
