our government to pass a National Sunday Law? this would go against our constitution and the separation of church and state. In1610 the first sunday law in America was passed. Laws and Orders,Divine,,Politique, and Martial, for the Colony in Virginia: forst established by Sir Thomas Gates,Lieutenant -General, May 24, 1610.Did you know the old Sunday blue laws are still on the books in Virginia? They have never been removed. It's a religious law and it's unconstitutional, but its still there.
Did you know that the president has been all for this?

St. Peter was crucified upside-down because he insisted that he was unworthy to die like Jesus. Even in death he was humble.

Since my mission is to promote humility in Christians, don't you think that St. Peter's cross is a very appropriate symbol?

Why are so many of my fellow Christians unaware of their own religion? It makes me sad.
It makes me even more sad that Christians would jump to angry and hate-filled conclusions, and then attack me.

Apparently, I have a lot of work to do in promoting Christian humility.

I change back and forth between atheism and agnosticism. I truly don't know.

I feel that if God was a truly benevolent God, he wouldn't allow for any of his creatures to suffer, no matter what.

I also feel that if God was a vengeful God, he wouldn't be perfect if he's holding a grudge like that, therefore not making him a God.

So when I lean back over to agnosticism, I think that God is truly a benevolent person, and cares for us no matter what.

This also conflicts with the fact that he lets us suffer here on earth. A lot.

When I think about this it makes me lean back to atheism.

With this question I just wrote down my thought process for the past 10 minutes.

Does this make any sense to anyone, or am I just a dumb kid?

I just asked who could forgive in the spirit of real Christian forgiveness exhibited by the remarkable Amish people in Penn.

I fully admit that I could not have done what they did and acknolwedge their moral superiority. Nevertheless the world seems almost certainly better for people like them than it does for people like me and anyone else who cannot forgive when the most extreme evil is done to them.

Would we be better now if the Christian president of the USA had acted as Christ commanded, and forgiven bin Laden for 9/11? I personally think this is a toughie.

Adam didn't recieve a soul. He was dust and God breathed into him the breath of life and Adam BECAME a living soul. In other words, his brain was turned on like when you turn your computer. Without the breath of life, he would be a dead soul (brain dead).

Why are we all in an agony, even after worshipping god for years ? Why is our religious mind getting inclined towards atheism ? Our faith in god is at stake. The life seems to be worthless now. We worship but the belief is getting diminished. Our vision towards the almighty and the life is changing. lnspite of all these the happiness is getting away from us. Have you ever tried to find the reason behind it ? There is nothing in this world without a reason there is a certain cause of all your sufferings like happiness, grief, rise and fall, diseases etc. which has to be found out by you and has to be analyzed to the deep, sitting with me. Together, let us find out where lies the real trouble. For thousands of years, even after getting all lesson and advice from prophets, the happiness is slipping away from us. The reason behind it is the undisciplined vision of us towards life. We want flowers but abhors the thorns, whereas both CO-exist together. We are always dependent on others. We implore god to solve our own problems. We expect others to help us. We want comfort for ourselves only. We want happiness with a healthy life. But, simply by longing for it we can’t obtain anything. Like flowers and thorns we have both grief and happiness in us. Thorns are like Babool Tree which is germinated by itself. But, we need to have the courage to germinate flower plants, it needs protections and nursing. If you feel moose then the flower plants are discarded by grasses. Which do not allow them to grow. Any body who is careless about his flowers can split his plants any time. Happiness can never be begged, nor can it be given by any body. Our ancestor have given us the vision to God, government and the society as givers. Don’t we have any responsibility of our own ? When we can’t take the responsibility of a mere number of people in a family, now it is possibility of the almighty and the government to we all ? If you are inactive then no body can give you the happiness. The plants of joy are scattered around you only. It is necessary to nurse them and grow them, after locating them. Discarding selfishness, laziness, meanness, egoist attitude, and taking the whole universe as one, sharing joy with every one, considering the betterment of the world with every body’s welfare are applied by an industrious person, whose life is always successful. The surrounding him becomes heavens, which is not given by any body else, but created by himself only. Whatever circumstances we are in the present is caused by us only. We are trying to escape from this world for being scarred of it. We want salvation. It is life uprooting the bamboo plants to avoid tuneless voice from a flute. It the world so inharmonious ? if yes then free to fleeing from it, is the only way ? But, where to flee ? To the space zone ?

In the beginning, at the time of creation of nature only one element was present in the vast universe of infinity, which is called the prime element or the God. In course of time it condensed into an energy element and then from energy it transformed into a solid element, which again got divided into seven re-transformed parts in course of time. These divided parts are earth (surface), water, air, fire (energy) consciousness, sky, and arrogance. In the seven elements were carried the truth (Positive), essence (Neutral) and sin (Negative) is equal proportion like wise in the whole universe there is a creation on 21 type of matters. These 21 maters constitute the whole universe. And divide themselves in to count less numbers of atoms. During the developing period of universe, in a desire to develop themselves the atoms carried on improving themselves spontaneously and gradually up to conscious soul, generally. Some highly developed carried high consciousness and divine power in them. The atoms of the universe are trying to go further ahead in the way of superiority.
If we take the milk as prime element, then curd, cheese, butter, buttermilk, butter oil, and creams etc. are the byproducts of it. Bacteria is cultured in the curd. Cheese is not active but the bacteria’s are active like wise, the matter, the living being and the ‘spheres’ are developed from the prime elements. The cause of the matter is energy and the energy is the condensed form of prime element (the essential elements of the universe).
The soul enters into the man though breathing to become the part of his cell, again to form into the sperm, and after that it take the form of a foetus in mother’s womb. Every atoms are well equipped to form alive. Wherever co-incidence occurs they become activated. And congruous to the developed state of own, with the help of other germs and atoms they take the form of a full bodied species.
Every atom has a free existence which is made of a part from the supreme element. Whatever is there in this universe, is existing from the beginning, will remain there. Only the shape and the size of it changes. Nothing reduces or increases.
The day atoms go back to there original position they will achieve salvation. Conversion of soul into super element is salvation.
This undivided infinite existing one is God. The soul, germs and the atoms are tiny parts of it. Like a stone and the molecules in it. Countless numbers of molecule combine together to form a stone. Likewise the tenure and the dominance of God are spread in molecules to molecules. This is a fact. An eternal truth.

If we take God out of the equation, how do we determine appropriate ethical rules? Why act morally?

With God absent, must we accept that Peter Stringer is correct when he posits that the parents of severely disabled newborn infants should be able to decide, together with their physician, whether their infant should live or die.

If not, what argument can we use to support the idea that an infant born with spida bifuda has an inherently greater right to life than a school of dolphins?

If we remove God from the equation, must we agree that a government may pass a law that permits non-voluntary euthanasia for elderly who have permanently lost the ability to understand or support themselves as long as it is the will of the people? If not, can we abandon those elderly?

In short, having excised God, may atheists freely set their own ethical boundaries? If not, why? On what grounding principles should an aethiest base his or her ethical framework?

I answered a KKK question 5 months ago... the link: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ai2pmii_vbLrt2lyl6L.eZfsy6IX?qid=1006051415344
to this day, people r still voting on the answer & occasionally leaving a comment.

I know that people are still furious with the KKK concept, boy does it get hearts racing!
It's terrible to think of those who suffered when KKK was at its peak... but to think that there are still many believers that this should continue is extremely disturbing
I thought society had moved on, but it's only taken a few baby steps. Tragic!

And on another note, back in those days, it was certain Christian groups that wanted to rule out the (hate saying this word) blacks, BUT what I noted in the comments was that GOD created all... Why are we criticising his work?

Nevertheless, I know we will never forget those awful times, (& we shouldn't have to) yet my question to you is, do you think we will move on eventually finding a +ive balance between society

Doesn't that contradict the idea of an afterlife? Does the idea of an afterlife also make a resurrection pointless if we are eternal already? If we have eternal souls, why did jesus die for us?

YIKES! What should I do?

Studies of more than 126,000 people have shown that those who regularly attend church are 29 per cent more likely to live longer than non-churchgoers. A University of Texas study found that church attenders live up to seven years longer than non-attenders, and the most regular attenders have the longest life expectancy.

A Duke University study of 2391 people who were at least 65 years old found that regular churchgoers who also prayed daily or studied the Bible daily were 40 per cent less likely to have high blood pressure than those who did not. Elderly churchgoers had better mental health and were less likely to have high degrees of a protein associated with age-related illness.
