A Friend of mine thinks her parents are because they were the ones she most trusted in and, a while ago, they faked her signature and sold a house she owned and they didn't give her a penny and she just knew that was going on six months after the house was sold.

he had a very good message. I like his message, I try my best to follow that message (trolls here can sometimes get to me) but I just don't believe in him being a supreme being. Why does it seem that some of his followers have lost that message?

Who is willing to state that they have been hypocritical on this board?

Please do not tell me I'm not willing, I wouldn't ask you to if I wasn't willing to myself.

I have been hypocritical on this board a good bit of times.

On Saturady morning, a friend and I were scheduled to meet for coffee. He brought his 8 year old daughter with him. All that morning, the kid kept playing this little game of waiting for me to start to say something, and then cutting me off in mid-sentence, to get her father talking to her about another topic. Once or twice I could have overlooked, but this happened constantly throughout our time together. Her father never once corrected her, or told her to wait until I was finished talking. Finally, when I was taking them home, she did it for what must have been at least the 30th time (I am not exaggerating!) and I yelled, "WOULD YOU SHUT HER UP ALREADY?!" She got tearyeyed, and I apologized. But I didn't appreciate her father saying to her, "You'll have to be quiet honey, "Rhino" isn't used to being around little kids." I'll admit I should not have yelled like I did, but I also think he should have said something to her way before it had gotten to that point. Any thoughts?

Quote:

"It compares the social peformance of relatively secular countries, such as Britain, with the US, where the majority believes in a creator rather than the theory of evolution....

The paper, published in the Journal of Religion and Society, a US academic journal, reports: “Many Americans agree that their churchgoing nation is an exceptional, God-blessed, shining city on the hill that stands as an impressive example for an increasingly sceptical world.

“In general, higher rates of belief in and worship of a creator correlate with higher rates of homicide, juvenile and early adult mortality, STD infection rates, teen pregnancy and abortion in the prosperous democracies.

“The United States is almost always the most dysfunctional of the developing democracies, sometimes spectacularly so.”

I realize this report is a bit old, but what do you make of it's findings?

Fellow atheists, have we made the wrong choice in choosing atheism,

some, not all christians, claim jesus is the only way and without jesus we will be punished. They claim they are right and we are wrong.

So, have we made the wrong choice? I was thinking we should extend the finger of friendship to them, and try and investigate.

Why do people look down on those who claim to be athiest or, for that matter agnostic?

Both hold beliefs:

-Athiests believe there is no God or higher power.

-Agnostics believe that we (human beings) can not coprehend the complexities of "God", or whatever it is that may have created the universe.

Why are these valid, realistic beliefs look down upon?

Does it challenge the established idea that "God" will make everything alright?

Do you find the people who believe these ideas to be immoral? If so, who or what dictates morality?

People seem to believe that God (Jesus Christ) has to go by human standards when he clearly set the standard with Moses, the prophets, and when he came physically in this world to defeat Satan.

Why don't they look around and realize we are the ones choosing to go against him and that is causing all the termoil in the world?

We have choices to make, why don't we make the right choices instead of the stupid ones?

Just want to compare notes with my fellow Atheists, as you know some not all Christians believe they are right and everyone else is wrong, so according to them we are pawns of Satan.

So I am just wondering, wanting to compare notes, does anyone else have Satan come and talk to you?

As for me, 0 communication from the dark lord who controls us.

Since these Christians are right, and they must be, theres no way they can be wrong, Satan must be talking to one of us.

what would you do if you discover that your friend supports those who talk against you?

recently i found out that my close friend was laughing and supporting those who believed that i am stupid.. he has started behaving as if he is great. he is ignoring him for no reason. he just wants to be with those 'new' group of people who are similar to his innate character- laughing at others., thinking he is great, those who consider they r cool and others are not.

i think the trouble started when i started calling those who waste time and not study are fools. we r in medical school and i beleive my friend dies not have the attitude to be a doctor. but the problem is, i am unable to cope with his new behavior as we were friends for almost 6 years and then this happened...

your suggestions are valuable for me to cope with this new situation where i am always thinking about that and unable to do anything else at all!

i hope you can help.... :-)

Hey just wondering what y'all think about second baptism. Me personally, I don't think it's right 'cause the Bible clearly says one baptism, plus lots of people at my church have been baptised more than once. Thx in advance!
