he had a very good message. I like his message, I try my best to follow that message (trolls here can sometimes get to me) but I just don't believe in him being a supreme being. Why does it seem that some of his followers have lost that message?

Who is willing to state that they have been hypocritical on this board?

Please do not tell me I'm not willing, I wouldn't ask you to if I wasn't willing to myself.

I have been hypocritical on this board a good bit of times.

Good question, the fact is that it seems often times some of the least Christ like people are the Christians, after all they have their lord and savior to answer for their sins,so why try so hard not to sin. I loved the Gandhi quote someone else threw out there, couldn't have hit the nail on the head harder. As for the hypocrite query I have to say I'm sure I've been a hypocrite,we all have at some point, the difference is that I try not to be one as hard as I can when many won't even make that effort.

Because as every year, decade that goes by, more and more evidence surfaces that the bible is false and made up. Just take a look at a recent book called Misquoting Jesus. It is a factual book that researches ancient biblical texts that prove that today's bible is mostly made up and untrue.
At the same time, more and more evidence comes up that re enforces evolution and the origin of species. All this leaves a lot of people in the middle of the road, so to speak.

The closest religion that practices what Jesus preached are Jehovahs Witnesses
They have love among themselves (John13:35)
They preach from house to house(Matt.28:19,20;Acts5:42,
20:20)
They talk to others about God's Kingdom

I can't say that I've been hypocritical. The things I say (even when I quote the word of God), I try to live by them. Have I stumbled a few times? That would be a yes, but I try not to make it a habit to live in sin. I repent and turn away from it. I know that I can't walk this walk without Christ.

No one is ABLE to practice what Jesus preached. That is the whole point. The bible says that the wages of sin is death. We are all sinners. The second part of that verse is "but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord" Jesus Christ lived a perfect, sinless life and then, even though he did not deserve it, He chose to die in our place.

I have broken every commandment. I have lied, cheated, stole, used profanity, committed adultry. You name it. I am not a hypocrite. I am a man in need of a saviour. Jesus Christ is that saviour. He accepts me as I am. He loves me regardless of my sin.

I would like to think that I do, but you're right, I haven't been living up to what Jesus preached, and I doubt anyone has.

But I know the Holy Spirit is working in me to make me a better person, and each day in my relationship with God I become holier in His eyes and closer to Him.

Sanctification is not an easy process, but every Christian should hang in there and continue to strive to be closer to our Friend and Lord in Christ.

I practice what He preaches.
His lost message is more like hidden but right in front of us. Love is a basic need and want. His message is as simple as Him, Love. Love for friends, love for family, love for neighbors, love for enemies, above all love for Him. As I believe you can't truly know love if you don't love God.
I don't think I've been hypocritical. But perhaps....

I believe, and (at least try) to follow the Jesus' teachings.
I DO see similarities between his teachings and many Buddhist ones as well. As far as being a supreme being, I think that even if he wasn't he was at LEAST closer in understanding God than anybody at that time... and died for it.
