Are you going to limit theism to Christian beliefs alone? Christianity along with Islam is one of the youngest among the major faiths in the world and has yet to evolve, but unfortunately have stopped the evolution-the leaders of these faiths seem to be taking them maybe backwards rather than forwards.
I think there are a lot of other religions that are worth looking into-be they Judaism, Hinduism, Shinto, Buddhism, and many others. These religions have matured to a certain extent, and are now unfortunately stagnating because the followers and their religious leaders of thought are stuck into old ruts and would not like to get out of them, and yet, in spite of these rigidities have a lot of learning's.
The aim of all religions seems to be a way of life that is meant to benefit it's adherents as a whole, unfortunately, as I said that most are stuck in a rut, into rigid and variously interpreted rules and regulations.
Tell me one convincing proof of the existence of God that any of these religions give or have.
To believe in a supreme creator, it has to be in your mind, scriptures will only parrot stuff that is arcane, ancient. Belief in God is not about following a particular religion, but in your mind.

simply claiming that atheists have made the wrong choice simply because some Christians feel that their way is the only way is the exact reason why there are atheists, extending friendship is all fine and good, but i wouldn't extend friendship to Christians on that basis or any "investigative" basis either.you only know if you made a wrong decision if you feel it in your heart, not because of verbal persuasion from anyone.most Christians have their mind already made up,refusing to "investigate",which is dangerous.

If we were to really follow the popular "what if you're wrong" theory tossed at us by believers, it would make sense for everyone (including our religious neighbors) to pray and sacrifice to ALL the gods and goddesses that have ever been dreamed up by the mind of man--JUST IN CASE we are wrong and might offend the true creator(s) of the universe.
I'll stick to living a life guided by reason and human compassion over crawling under the weight of irrational fears.

Investigate? Nah, it's not worth the effort.
Besides, it's like George Carlin always says: "The only good thing to come out of religion is the music."

No no, we've made the correct wager.

Actually it's not REALLY a wager... it's not like I choose this nonbelief... it's just that I couldn't possibly believe so I have to be atheist by default.

I've been waveing the finger of friendship at them for a while now. LOL
My investigation has rested for now until some new evidence arrises.

I have tried the "free will" thing and it doesn't work.
I never chose Atheism. I value my life, there for believing in things that don't exists, doesn't support that value. I can't change that value.

I haven't actually CHOSEN to be an atheist (or an unbeliever, to be more precise). I'm an unbeliever by conviction. I couldn't possibly be a believer. So it's not a choice. It's fate.
