People seem to believe that God (Jesus Christ) has to go by human standards when he clearly set the standard with Moses, the prophets, and when he came physically in this world to defeat Satan.

Why don't they look around and realize we are the ones choosing to go against him and that is causing all the termoil in the world?

We have choices to make, why don't we make the right choices instead of the stupid ones?

Assumptions tend to be 'easier' and more convienient than actually setting out to look for the truth or that to continue searching for it.

Often assumptions are passed on, either from a parent to a child or from a teacher to a student. The best way to combat the spread of assumptions is to search for the truth.

This is not to say you should totally ignore your parents or teachers, but it is important that you develop your own view of the world. And be firm about it! When you do find the truth, stick by it.

I believe in God, people assume I'm stupid. I believe in Jesus, people assume I'm brainwashed. I believe in creation and people assume I'm crazy.

What they do not realize is I actually took time and effort to find these things as truth in my life. I never assumed any of those things, nor did I take my parents word about it as a given.

Be above making assuptions!

Probably because the ones "who make the right choices" like to make up words, like "Novist" instead of the real word, "Novice."

It's not people going against deity causing the turmoil in this world. It's people causing the turmoil and blaming it on religious differences that bring harm to this world. The Divine watch us and only interact with us when we want them to--and when we interact with the right divine beings.

That's what I've been saying. They just want to blame God for everything. They fail to see that it's man that's causing them problem. Man, in the flesh, walking after the flesh, doing foolish things.

Well you got a few good answers but your question brought out a lot of lunatics out of hiding in the dark.
To answer your question, ignorance. I have to admit that there was a time when I didn't understand much about God and i wouldn't listen to "fanatics". Know they call me one :)

1) Because we are an arrogant animal and we anthropomorphisize every thing so that we can relate to it.

2)Because we are basically selfish first and most people don't reach a state of Enlightened Self-Interest until they learn the hard way.

Novist Sociologist/Politician,
I don't think that they see themselves as being the problem. You'll see here on this site. Many think that it is "Religion" is the problem. I know that has to be a ridiculous generalization, but they are typically incapable of seeing their error.

The first assumption here is that God exists. The second is that Jesus is alive. And the third is that God and Jesus are the same.

We don't have a universal answer on what the right choices are.

One word: SIN

Romans 8

1: There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
2: For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death.
3: For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do: sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,
4: in order that the just requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
5: For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
6: To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
7: For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's law, indeed it cannot;
8: and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9: But you are not in the flesh, you are in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Any one who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.
10: But if Christ is in you, although your bodies are dead because of sin, your spirits are alive because of righteousness.
11: If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit which dwells in you.
12: So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh --
13: for if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body you will live.
