you sound more like an angry child than an itellectual. intellectuals dont start their intelligent arguments with insults and angry comments. your stement did not answer the question infact it proved the point. you are not here to make a "intellectual point" you are here to sling anger at what you say dont exist...why lash out if its not real. If your such a intellectual cant you be ending hunger or curing cancer?

perfect example of why atheists cant be taken seriously they all sound like a little boy who has had a toy taken way from them. I mean come on "jeebus" thats the best you can do to make yourself sound smart? How long did it take you to think of that one plato? Its best to be quiet and thought an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

I think I got more angry atheists in this question than angry muslims in another....its normal for people to get angry when they hear truth and dont want to. Will pray fro you all...contrary to what you may think I dont hate you or consider you irritating, just lost. The only emotion I can express toward you is pity. But with god all things are possible you may yet see the error of your ways. God bless you all.

Parrot,
Its all in the way you take it. It was not meant to be condescending. The main difference is I believe in an absolute truth, with absolute truth there is is absolute wrong as well. Your beliefs fall into my absolute wrong category. Understand that when I say I will pray for you its not meant to be a condescending statement. The best way to describe that is telling you that I believe you are wrong and I would hate to see anyone suffer for being wrong when its so easy to accept salvation. But after the converstaion I know that you will not change my mind and I alone cannot change yours so if I continue to push all i do is push you further away. so by saying i will pray for you im just saying I alone cant change you but i hope maybe god can...does that still seem condescending?

That is a very good point. They bring publicity to a God they claim no belief in and become angry when people praise him...It shows who is behind it all(John 8:44)God bless.

No one has any problem with the deity itself -- it's the movement supporting it that can be annoying. The movement to get Intelligent Design into public schools is a good example.

"all these "logical" atheists and not a single logical thought or rational answer to my question...what a shame. "
What are you talking about? You're getting many good answers to your question. And besides, the premise of your question isn't even correct. Atheists don't attack GOD, they attack the irritating God-believing movement that insists that religion must be EVERYWHERE: In public schools, in government buildings, in public places. Like I said, no one has a problem with people worshipping privately or going to church. But people (myself in particular) have a big problem with religious people trying to disguise their material as fact in order to get it into schools. Religious people think it's OK to teach kids that Intelligent Design is science... and it's not. Religious people think it's OK to teach kids that scientists aren't really sure if evolution is true... and they are. Those kind of things are what I have a problem with.
***
See, that's the thing. "Atheists are lost." "I pity atheists." "I'll pray for you, atheists." "Atheists, I have a truth that you don't have." You really do make it sound like other people are lower human beings because they don't believe what YOU believe. Maybe that should give you an idea of why non-Christians seem to get so angry at these types of questions. Stop talking down to us.
***
That entire second-to-last edit you posted seemed pretty condescending to me, but whatever. Again, you can believe whatever you want to believe, but it's just really obnoxious to claim that I've made an "error" and am "lost" just because I don't agree. I'm not "bitter" because I've answered too many of these types of questions already and by now I don't care. But imagine if a Muslim told you that you were "lost" because you didn't accept the Quran. How would you feel? Put it in a different perspective and you'll find the answer you're looking for.
Also, JAT: That was an excellent answer. Very well done.

Pretend, just for a moment, that a "2+2=5" movement started to become popular upon the land. First, you might find yourself thinking that this ideology could have dire consequences for "little" things - like bridge construction, medical research, and all things in which calculations matter. Now, it isn't that you have anything against "5." It's just that it's patently WRONG to say that if you add a 2 to another 2, you will get a "5".
Of course you have better things to do than just worry about "5." but if the issue comes up, you'll probably be tempted to correct those who indulge in this fallacious thinking - especially if they're involved in engineering.
The problem for a lot of us is that, not unlike that bridge, some folks would build government and educational policies based on their religious beliefs. I don't want children, even theirs, to have to walk on that faulty bridge - or attend a class on anti-science.
Most of us wouldn't give a hoot about church matters - if they just stayed there. So, if you want to believe that 2+2=5, or that evolution is the work of the devil, go right ahead. Just stay out of MIT and my children's school board. Until then, remember, we are NOT attacking god; we are attacking primitive dogma.

Well, not all Atheists act like that. Just like I'm sure not all Christians act the same. Some do make very valid points and will discuss it intelligently, if given the chance. As for replying with insults, you may not have started the conversation that way, but it ended that way.

The issue is very important. If your life is your most important value. You must learn how to take care of it. Since your life is very real, only very real virtues can support it. All this supernatural mumbo-jumbo serves to destroy your life one piece at a time.
Life of suicide is what is in the balance. Why bring up worm food? Unless a worms life is more important than your own. This is a clear example.

they don't. morons like you put words into their mouths. they don't fight against something they don't think exists.
they simply follow their passions: intelligence, logic, reason, science -- things that morons (like yourself) would never understand because you spend your time bathing in bible-BS and read/learn little else.
time to grow up and get an education. you should have never dropped out of the second grade!!
take one thing, for example, in christian hatred -- your images of jeebus. think about the part of the world that the jeebus myth came from -- and then look at your images of jeebus. a white guy with a blond beard. he was supposed to be a jew from the middle east! but christians hate them so much, they have to make his image into a white guy with blond hair and a light brown/blond beard. you morons. you barely even know how much you hate people on this planet!!! but you do!!!

I have read many answers from atheists on the subject of God,and most of them think that believers are uneducated people with very low I.Q.s,as opposed to their higher levels of education and high I.Q.s. Just read Seven's answer to your question. That is the attitude of many atheists, but I'm here to tell them that God is not impressed, and neither am I for that matter,by your self-proclaimed high academic abilities, because it isn't going to amount to a hill of beans when you meet your Maker.

I'm an atheist and I don't fight against god... I can't very well fight with something that doesn't exist. That would be like me fighting the tooth fairy, Santa or the Easter Bunny. It would be silly and fruitless.
I fight against people who believe god exists and use his supposed existence to force their beliefs on me and others like me. We speak out on our behalf and the behalf of our country that it remain secular (that is NEUTRAL to religion, not WITHOUT religion), so we must fight with believers to let them know that because we ALL live here together, they cannot rule us with their religion.

That is a good question. Why ask so many questions if you are not seeking some answers to maybe give you a reason to believe what you truly would like to believe in the first place?

I think because it's not atheists in and of themselves who are railing against God. There are unseen hosts of followers of Satan who spread contempt and contention everywhere they can. That is not to say atheists are bad people. They are, for the most part, very good people with just as many admirable qualities as anyone else in the world. Until the Second Coming of Jesus Christ happens, Satan and his followers will stir up people and harden hearts and minds as much as they can to slow spiritual progress down, in the name of "enlightenment" or whatever else it gets labelled as. In the meantime, I guess we can just be friends with everyone.

you rail at people for being "angry"
you complain that others aren't intellectuals, but you don't seem to be able to spell
your concept that atheists are fighting against "god" demonstrated that you don't understand the very basic concept that atheists DONT BELIEVE IN A GOD.
you are your poorly thought out question are dismissed.
