It means a person has wasted their time twice instead of once.

There is no need for a second baptism as long as the first one was done right. Sometimes if it is not clear if the first was done right there is such a thing as a provisional baptism which means it is just in case the first one was not done right (Not done in the name of the Trinity or something goofy like that. I mean a Mormon baptism is worthless) The Catholic Church even respects the baptisms of most of the mainstream Christian Churches. There is only one Jesus so there is only one baptism. (as long as it was done correctly)

The one baptism you are speaking of is true to a point, please let me explain, The one Baptism Is the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, Now to the water baptism, Look at St. Matt. 28:19 I don't have My bible open up to these scriptures, But I know them, You have to read very slowly & closely, 28:19 Jesus says to his Apostles to baptize in ( LOOK HOW IT IS WRITTEN) the NAME (SINGULAR NAME) of the father & of the son & the Holy Ghost. Remember it say NAME & not NAMES, Jesus gave Peter the keys to the kingdom of Heaven, not literal keys, But a Revelation, & Jesus also said what so ever ye do, rather it is works or deeds, do it ALL in his name, Plus Jesus also said I have came in my Father name. Now to look at Baptism,, I challenge anyone to show me where anyone was ever baptized, was baptised in the name of the father, son, & holy Ghost. If anyone can prove otherwise show me in the scriptures. But throughout all the new testament Every Christain was Baptized in the Name of The Lord Jesus Christ, you can find that in several places in the bible, Even Apostle Paul ask the people have ye received the Holy Ghost SINCE ye believed, & They said we have not heard about the Holy Ghost, He then said how was you baptized, & they said unto John's Baptism, Then Paul commaned they ALL be baptized in The Name Of The Lord Jesus Christ. Turn to Acts 2:38 Now this does not take away from Matthew 28:19 But just adds onto it, Because those Apostles KNEW what the NAME was. They had a Revelation. Then Peter Said unto them REPENT & BE BAPTIZED everyone of you in the (Name) of Jesus Christ-------Now I have had some said they rather take what Jesus said over Peter, If Peter was wrong, why would Jesus give him the keys to heaven( OR THE REVELATION TO HEAVEN) so the one baptism is the Baptism of the Holy Ghost & also water baptism is only one way, It does not mean that you can not be re-baptized. It is recorded in the new testament That some was re_baptized & they had to be baptized in the Name of The Lord Jesus Christ. NOT the TITLES of the father son & holy ghost, father is not a name & son is not a name & holy ghost is not a name, but they are titles to a Name & That One redemptive name is The Lord Jesus Christ. I know people that has been batized more than 2 times. Myself, I have only been Baptized one way & that was in The Name Of The Lord Jesus Christ. But the one Baptism you mention has a 2 fold meaning One Spiritual Baptism & one water Baptism, But it does not restrict you to being re-baptized again. If you were baptised in those titles, Then you need to be re-baptized in the NAME of The Lord Jesus Christ. I hope this has helped you

Some children are baptised young at the request of their parents and many are too young to know what they are doing and what it symbolizes. If that is the case then yes they shoul be baptised once they are capable of understanding the symbolism behind the ritual. I guess outside of that it is really up to the person and why they feel they need another baptism.

I have a friend who was Lutheran and converted into Catholicism while he was an adult and he opted to get baptized again. Me personally, I don't see it as a problem because Baptism is so much more than just a ceremony let alone how many times one has done it. Baptism in it's very nature means to die to your sins and live for Jesus, who just happens to be God. It's a beautiful thing you just have to look past the externals. God bless u and your family.

the one baptism means one True baptism. i beleive it means by submersion.
in Acts chapter 8 Phillip and the eunuch were traveling. at the point when the eunuch saw water and wanted to be baptized, he told philip to stop the chariot and baptize him. in those days, they would not have traveled without water. so if baptism meant pouring water over the head, they they could have done that at any time. they would not have needed a body of water.

It's OK with me if it is seriously meaningful to the one being baptized. My daughter likes to get saved over and over. She is sincere each time. I see nothing wrong with things like this if people are benefiting from it.

God's promise was made real the first time it was done, and His promise never changes or goes away. you don't need to because the promise has already been made by God.

I don't believe what's in the bible as it's now written.
It's been "tweaked" too many times over the centuries.
