i need to buy a gift for my blind aunt who i will be visiting in india. she does not know braille, nor does she listen to american music. so braille books and music CDs are out. i feel clothes are so generic of a gift. i've given her perfume in the past.

i would love to hear a great, special suggestion that would make her day! she is a very special person but had such bad luck because of her eyesight. she is married and has two daughters (one is in college and one in high school). she usually lives by herself at home while her husband is at work.

i'd appreciate your answers...please, no sarcasm here - this is a sensitive topic.

Are there any suggestions for people who ask questions they think they are an authority on, lecture people around them on the subject, but still have the facts wrong?

The ship Noah had was just longer than a football field (end zones included), 25 yards wide and 15 yards tall. It had 3 levels. Noah was not instucted to get every form of each species, just the kinds of animals. He didn't need to get every breed of dog, just dogs. Also, he didn't need to get any fish for obvious reasons. The range of species we have today are a result of the more realistic form of evolution so to speak. I am not saying that evolution is what created these species because that is absurd and scientifically considered so unlikely it is impossible. Just like some breeds of dogs were breed in China that through intentional breeding altered the look of the dog. The point is that the genetic material was already there because God created it the animal, not because a massless pond scum evolved into a human with 60,000 nerve endings in their eye alone. Also I believe the animals came to Noah. After all he lived several hundred years, he had plenty of time to get all the animals

We all have insecurities, i have just had rhinoplasty, to fix a break in my nose, i received in an accident many years ago. I hated the way it looked, yet most people tell me, they never even noticed it. My insecurity i suppose, what`s yours? Do you think we are too self critical, and should just chill out, maybe what`s on the inside is more important?

Hi,
As part of a school project, I want to find out about different religions.
I would appreciate it if any answers are as full as you are able!
Specifically, I would like to know about:

1. Number of gods worshipped
2. Description or purpose of said god(s)
3. Contact practised with the god(s)- prayer, sacrifice, visions, omens, or other
4. What do you do with your religion at home- any daily rituals?
5. Names and descriptions of festivals
6. Views of other religions

Thanks very much for what I am sure will be very helpful!

Quran 4:24 "And all married women (are forbidden unto you) save those (captives) whom your right hands possess." http://cwis.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/004.qmt.html

So the Quran instructs good Muslims that its illegal to have sex with married woman unless they are slaves, and of course, slaves are slaves thus, by definition, any sex you have with a human you have also enslaved is rape (obviously).

PS - I noticed on my last question a Muslim who was stupid enough to try an claim that I made this scripture up even though I provided an exact link and citation! People, you cant do better than this, I provide the exact link from a University site that has three of the best translators listed side by side!

I am agnostic and currently (and recently) single. While getting back into the dating world I'm finding that I am asked quite frequently about my religiouis orientation. Many of the men (and boys) I know are and meet Christian. It seems as if I tell them that I am agnostic, it sends up red flags for them since most people do not necessarily understand (or care to understand) agnostic and atheist beliefs.

I always want to be upfront and honest because I do not want to pretend to be something that I am not or believe something that I don't but once I say that I am agnostic, it seems I instantly get labeled.

How does one go about dealing with this? And, once in a relationship for example with a Christian, is it possible to have a lasting relationship and/or marriage? My last serious relationship was with a Southern Baptist and, needless to say, this caused a lot of problems therefore I am hesitant about getting into relationship with another person who will not accept my beliefs.

Bow down in the platinum maze
Twilight cathedrals spread the system plague
Forging sacred thrones in the void unseen
Merciless judgement in the church of the machine

I'm the master, looking down from the edge of space and time
Flesh and steel intertwined
I am the future, sacrifice your soul and succumb to me
Nailed to your faith, you'll believe

Scream-and no one hears my pleas
Faceless masses falling to their knees

Bow down in the platinum maze
Twilight cathedrals spread the system plague
Forging sacred thrones in the void unseen
Merciless judgement in the church of the machine

Pyramids in the sky, playing out their cosmic games
Rulers of us all, forever cursed we live in pain
Cursed-we live in pain...

The creator, 'Neath the darkened sun, my empires rise
Artificially devised
The destroyer, fierce intentions flow from a virtual rage
Forever lost and enslaved

Total mesh of soul and steel
Life-force force under my command
Twisted baptism of fire
Between machine and man

Scream-and no one hears my pleas
Faceless masses falling to their knees

Bow down in the platinum maze
Twilight cathedrals spread the system plague
Forging sacred thrones in the void unseen
Merciless judgement in the church of the machine

Bow down in the platinum maze
Twilight cathedrals spread the system plague
Forging sacred thrones in the void unseen
Merciless judgement in the church of the machine

i have a blind aunt that lives in india and i'll be visiting her soon. what kind of a gift besides clothes would you suggest i give to her? its so hard to think of something that would be special to her. i wanted to give her something that appeals to her other intact senses so i gave her perfume once. but now i can't think of anything.

clothes are boring (she doesn't really even go out that much). and she doesn't listen to american/english music.

i'd really appreciate any good advice/suggestions.

thanks!

Hate, or does everyone have hatred inside of them? If you can be taught to hate, can a person that goes through life hating others, ever find redemption? Does the fact that they harbor hatred lie with them, or their parents? If the person was born into hate, raised to hate, and lived amongst those that hate, what is to be said for their subsequent actions? How can they fight or opress a feeling that has always been instilled inside of them....something that they've always known to be right, and have never been told different? I guess this is more of a question on spirituality.......

Being passive is too mushy...being agressive is being too pushy

How can being passive-aggressive NOT a good thing? I believe there is a time to speak up, and there is a time to shut-up and listen.

Any thoughts on this please?
