We all have insecurities, i have just had rhinoplasty, to fix a break in my nose, i received in an accident many years ago. I hated the way it looked, yet most people tell me, they never even noticed it. My insecurity i suppose, what`s yours? Do you think we are too self critical, and should just chill out, maybe what`s on the inside is more important?

Growing up I always thought I looked gawky, and not much to look at. My self-image has really gone up since then. I do like what I see in the mirror. I still look kidsy-cute even at 31. I'm not being vain here (or trying to promote my own self), but I think I'm handsome... So does my gorgeous wife, who is forever critical of photos she sees of herself.
As for looking in the mirror and liking what I see beneath the skin - I think I could do better, but I can lookl myself squarely in the eye and be confident that dirt-digging would REALLY have to be stretching and distorting things to find anything on me (Not that I ever fancy going into politics!!!)

I am self critical because it keeps my ego in check, but I do have confidence in my self all is good in Moderation.

I used to be annoyed by the way I looked but I matured and accepted myself. I may be in dire need of a boob job but I would never do that to myself so I stopped being upset over it.
That was the only real problem I had with myself. Everything else is fine.

God, age really kicks your butt. My wife always says, (and I tend to agree with her), people who live their lives as bad people turn themselves into dogs with age. I always thought I was too short, and when my hair went from my head to my body I felt ugly. My wife still sees the man she met. She wants a facelift, but I still see the woman I met. Your last sentence hit it on the head.

No I think my eyes are too close together. Could also use some better hair. But I guess I will just have to live with it.
