It would be more correct to say God is the author of all true doctrines. The trick is trying to figure out which are true doctrines. Did God personally attend the Council of Nicaea? Or did he send a group of prophets, or even one living prophet to attend? If not, then there is your answer.

The church already had the doctrine of the trinity before Nicea but it was contested mostly by Arius who was a pastor who went against his Bishop and spread his own belief called Arianism, which put Jesus as a created being less than divine. Arius was kicked out of the church for his false doctrine but he later tried to spread it even more. The Council was set up by emperor Constantine who left 300 bishops from all over the empire to settle the matter. 298 bishops out of the 300 rejected Arius and his doctrine as blasphemy. This is were the church gets the Nicene Creed which reinforces that Jesus is "very God of very God". The council of Nicene took place in 325A.D. The early church really didn't have a problem with Jesus being divine. It was Christ's humanity that it had more problems with and did not come to an accord about Jesus being both human and divine in one person till the councils of Ephesus in 431A.D. and the council of Chalcedon in 451 A.D.. Evidence for any doctrine rests first and foremost on the scriptures contained in the Bible not any clergyman or council. Anyone who studies the Bible for themselves will see scritpture that teaches Jesus is God and man.

The council just came up with a "nickname" for "the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit." Trinity just means "3."
It is easier to say 1 word than 8 words

God is not the "author" of any man invented doctrin... as to The Trinity... The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit. That is a very simple concept... it is directly from The Bible of The Christian Faith... 1+1+1= 3.... three = trinity.... the man invented dogma applied to The Trinity by any number of "denominations" and man invented "religions" is not from God...
If you would like to read some of my pov on The Trinity, it is not that long, you may at:

God the Father and author of the Bible, who sent Jesus, His Son, who is the second in the Trinity. The Holy Spirit, that part of God which indwells the hearts of believers, is the third.

Yes, you are right. I'm Saint Nearly, and I'm holier than average.
The trinity doctrine did not begin with the Council of Nicaea.

The Nicean council merely stated what is written in scripture in a way that clarifies all the pieces put together.

Christianity became corrupted because of the early European priests who changed its format to suit their medieval polytheistic belief (which included many Gods).Trinity is a sign of that. There is only one God who rules the earth. he is the one who sent the Bible through Jesus to his people.
