...people are there any names that translate. For example, Maria/Mary...Spanish and English. Are there any Asian, Spanish, French, Italian, or any others that have different conjugations/translations? If so, can you name some with their english-speaking equivalent? (I don't really know if Mary is an english name or not, I just guessed.)

If somebody is electrocuted, by definition does it mean that they died from the incident? Or can you be electrocuted and still live. PROVIDE BACKUP! I don't want opinions because I have one of those. I just want to know if there's a FACT out there.

I'm guessing that it's Italian, and it means something along the lines of "the way is beautiful"...but I'm not sure.

I tried looking it up on some transaltion websites, but I only got a bunch of jumbled words...

does this ring a bell to anyone?

I mean they say they are.... but gosh, with the space alien deals and the black men creating white men threw DNA sampling... They are extremely racist, believing all lighter skinned races to be devils :S And that is just the beginning...

I know we are supposed to accept anyone who says they are muslims as such, but this is abit much to swallow?

I've fallen in love with my best friend! I've known James since I was 13 & he was 15, I'm 19 now.

About a year back my father kicked me out, because his girlfriend of 3 years (my mother died 4 years ago) wanted me out! And James, who (jokingly) claims himself to be my guardian angel, allowed me to move in with him.

Every time I look at him I feel sad, because I know that we'll never be more than friends (because I highly doubt anyone especially James will ever love me).

My father's girlfriend says if I lose James as my friend she'll let me can move back in, but that would be worse because then I would not get to see James again, & if I ever decide to "come out" (probably won't) I would again be kicked out. As she's a bit homophobic, the reason why James (who is gay) & I can't be friends & me live there.

I hate being in love with someone whom I see all the time, one day he probably get a boyfriend and I will be really depressed, even thinking about it depresses me a lot....

If some people believe that Jesus Christ is really God - then what are they saying when they say that Jesus Christ died? As far as I understand it you have to believe that Jesus Christ died and that God raised him from the dead to be saved (and make him Lord in your life). How then could Jesus be God and die?

I will never be able to believe that God died. But I have no trouble believing that the man Jesus Christ died for our sins. It's an oxymoron to think that Jesus was God and he died. It's 100% logical to think that Jesus Christ was the son of God - a man (who the bible says was: made, born, etc.) who actually died. If he didn't die then we are not saved.

So my question is this: - What steps does your brain have to twist into to believe that Jesus was God? (or does God mean what he says when he said in 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus?)

I was born and bred in Yorkshire. I have lived in Devon for 12 years.
The other day I politely asked a man to move his van as it was blocking my driveway. He said he was loading so wait! I waited and waited and asked him nicely how long he was going to be!
I was met with a barrage of verbal abuse, name-calling, swearing etc; you know...the usual, but then...get this...he told me to go back to where I came from!
I'm still amused by that now. It felt weird at the time!
What do you make of that then?

...for ppl to answer questions in a respectful and knowledgeable manner...how long would it last? take into consideration that others might take your answers seriously. I wish ppl would show more human intelligence amongst a lot of unneccessary technical terminology, especially about things they don't agree with or know about...or is that giving too much credit to us humans?

I am having such a hard time finding a job that I really like and co-workers have been making it hard for the last year (since I moved away from my dads house). I cannot decide what I would like to do in my life and I am afraid that I am messing up my future when I am working in cosmetology, what I went to school for. Please say a prayer for me that I find what I am to do in this world! I am so confused!
I feel that I am waisting time there and I dont know what direction to go in my life. I am going broke, paying rent is a struggle and my car is about to be reposessed.. I appreciate any encouraging words and dont want any negativity here, please! Just please pray for me!

Nearly every version was (read your history)

Now, these committees decided what religious writings were "true" words of god and which weren't "true". Many were included. Many were excluded.

It is a logical necessity that anyone who believes that "the bible" is the literal, inerrent word of god must therefore by extension believe that these committees of men were infallible.

Otherwise they could have "oopsy!" included the gospel of Mark as a mistake, and should have instead included the 3rd Letter of Bubba to the Tenesseans.

for those who believe in a literal, inerrent bible...

Did you ever realize that you are believing by extension in the infallibility of committees of men?

Think about it.
