...for ppl to answer questions in a respectful and knowledgeable manner...how long would it last? take into consideration that others might take your answers seriously. I wish ppl would show more human intelligence amongst a lot of unneccessary technical terminology, especially about things they don't agree with or know about...or is that giving too much credit to us humans?

yara c...my intentions were to direct you away from that downhill path and from reading all the other comments i felt i had to make my answer stand out to make a point, no offense but you shouldn't do that, honstley. it's not safe or respectful right? be patient is all i can say and try to change ur mind...please.

I don't think anyone should answer a question if
they don't take it seriously and take into consideration that the person asking the question is searching for a knowledgeable, hopefully helpful answer.
If you do have a question that you want answers for, then remember to overlook those answers that are mean, spiteful, prejudice, or silly and just accept the most caring and informed answer and go with that. Overlook the rest.

We should be able to have fun and be serious about some of the questions that are asked. I do my best and I joke a little but some of the questions are well Huuum Lets say they like to hear themselves type. I joke but I try to be helpful if I feel it is a serious question. Some folks truly like to learn. I have been to a few countries and speak one additional language besides bad English. I love different cultures, food and traditions. So keep the questions coming and the best thing to do with goofy questions or answers is let it go by.. Answering them gives them the fire to go on.

I'll bet you want "ppl to answer questions in a respectful and knowledgeable manner" but just so we're on the same page...in what category does "you're weird...i wouldn't consider u an Indian after that type of nonsense" fit in? the respectful category? or the knowledgeable category? maybe it fits into "take into consideration that others might take your answers seriously"? All I know is that I myself think before I talk. I do acknowledge the feelings of others and I dont answer selfishly. Looks like you 'want' to do that or maybe you 'think' you're doing that, but not from where I'm looking at you you're not.

A lot of people are on-line to say things they would never say if anyone knew who they were, to express themselves more freely. I was pretty awful when I first came to Answers, but when I saw people are really serious, I became more serious, too. Some questions, however, are clearly meant to not be taken seriously and it's OK to have some fun with those.
Nowadays, what annoys me the most are long cut and paste Wikipedia articles. All of us have access to Wiki, a link would be sufficient.

In a forum such as this you are bound to get all sorts of answers from comedic to serious to stupid or even rauncy. Yes, excepting humans to actually do what is asked of them is usually too much to ask, that is what makes us human.
