It depends on how old you are. If you are in high school or college, six years difference can seem like a large difference. However, the older you get the more six years seems like no gap at all. I married for the first time at 49 years old. My wife was 41. While she teases me about robbing the cradle, the age difference doesnt' matter in the slightest. Biggest difference we have found is in the entertainment area. I remember things she doesnt'. My favorite Jethro Tull album is Aqualung where as her's is "Too old to Rock: Too Young to Die". This is because the first Tull album she heard was "Too Old....." while I am old enough to have heard "Thick as a Brick" when it first came out. The songs on "Too Old....." are good songs but by then Tull was "old hat" to me.

What are yrears?
Seriously....it depends on the age of the people in question. I guess a 12 year old and an 18 year old is not a perfect mix...but a 70 year old and a 76 year old is quite fine in my opinion.
All the numbers in between are also up for debate....as is the reason for the relationship between the two. Is this a romantic relationship or an intellectual relationship? Intellectually age makes no difference.

Age differences as they relate to relationships can make a difference depending on the age involved.
Both youth and age seem to have the biggest concerns. A six year difference involving a person who is 18 or under could be a great difference because maturity is an issue. A six year difference involving persons over 18 has less of an impact. On the other end of the spectrum a six year difference involving a person who is 65 could also make a difference.
In all other age spans, six years seems to make very little difference.

It really depends... 20 is much older than 14, but 40 isn't much older than 34.
The age thing really depends on what the ages are, if that makes any sense.

according to how old you are, if you are 12 and hes 18, yes its a lot older, if you are 20 and hes 26 no thats not bad, if you are 60 and hes 66, its just the blink of an eye. the older you get the less it matters.

if that 6 yrs older person is meant to be ur life partner...i wont consider that as old. my parents' age difference is 6 yrs. they turn out pretty well. just ignore the age difference...as long as u r happy.
