Id jsut like to clear things up. When a Catholic Prays to God he/she is lifting up his mind and heart to God. When a Catholic "prays" to Mary or a saint it is a completely differant sence of the word. We simply ask them to pray with us. To pray also for what we are praying. It makes sence. IF we are praying for our grandfathers surgery we might pray to Mary asking her to pray for him also. It is not much differant than asking your nieghbor to pray for his surgery. The differance is mary is already in heaven with God. AS close to God as is possible. Who better to ask? IT is not idolatry. Sometimes a catholic might pray before a statue of Mary, but not becuase he or she believes the statue to BE mary..merely to help them concentrate on the prayer. Why do so many people mix this up????

to the julia impersonator specifically:

if youre an atheist why do you need to tear down other people faith, what does it matter to you if someone wants to live by a moral code ? think about it

sure we shouldnt be imposing our beliefs onto a country forcing others to live under my structure but we live in a democracy so BOOHOO! if the tables were turned and atheists were in control i would have to accept it or leave. do you really think you will accomplishing separating church and state by tearing down the bible(poorly)? or would ur time be better spent being a productive member of society ?

since there is no after life, this is all you have and you spend it tearing down other peoples beliefs... you only have about 40 years left to make a difference then poof youre dust. shouldnt atheists be more productive in society helping people rather than tearing down other peoples belief structures ?

sorry for the opinions but give me your feedback thanks love yo

I've heard that this church is spreading from Brazil (unfortunately IMO). They preach basic christian/catholic beliefs but manipulate people into giving them money for everything involved in the church (blessings, prayers, exorcisms). I've seen documentaries/undercover investigations on it in Brazil where they've shown the leaders "acting out" possesions of demons etc. Just wondering if anyone has heard of it....

I mean, the way she dressed and made herself up like a high priced hooker, what could she expect? Hookers often meet bad ends, even high class ones. Maybe it was God's judgment against her.

I live in Southern Arizona, so I can't do ANYTHING without pressing "1" for English. I'm ok with the Spanish Billboards in town, and I don't even care if there is an option to press "2" for Espanol; but I shouldn't have to press "1" for English.

The majority of my employees are Spanish speaking only and I GREATLY appreciate their hard work everyday. They are very hard working and very loyal.

My comments are not related to immigration or anything of the nature. I simply just don't want to press "1" for English.

John 15:13 says
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
What reason would you have to do this? Please don't say something like "virtue is its own reward", because in your worldview you won't be a better person for it, you will be worm food. And when the universe goes out with a sigh (like many scientists believe will be as the end result of the Second Law of Thermodynamics) you won't even be a memory.
I know some people are out there waiting to sound smart because they think they know something about the Second Law. No duh it's an energy equation, but entropy is a consequence of it. Stick to the question! However, this is an entirely different discussion.

Is this one of those traditions from the 1500's that stuck with us, and now we feela moral obligation to do it, when it was originally put in place to satisfy the luxuries of the church back then. 1 thing, I think the catholic church has the biggest bank account ever in the world. Do we really need to stress our financial situation to make them richer, when they can play all of thier needs just of the intrest of thier huge ginormous bank account. And for those little christian churches, Those are freakin crazy I think, ive been to them, They are all about technology, with the best projection systems, sound systems. Broadcasting equipment. And then there are the bilboards, that they spend thousands on each month. Should you give 10% of your earning still or not?
