We do live in a country, not a world, where people have freedom of thought and expression. The reason people report others is because they are having their rights stepped on. You see, even in this country, people's rights are only extended until they begin infringing on other peoples rights. I think that has something to do with some document they call the constitution. Something about EVERY person has a right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. So while there may be a little over reporting going on, the reason for it is that they are having their rights stepped on.

depends on the hour, there are alot of young people here and lets not show them how rotten everything is just yet, they have plenty of time to self discover. We should all be a little reserved at some times, what ever happened to cander? but in some way syou are right we fought hard for this, to speak our minds, as long as what's being said has a valid and useful point and can make a difference, if you are just talking trash, really what was the point of all these protests? Drugs are here, sex is here and same sexes are leading our democracy so let's do this thing proud and educate with flare, style and common sense, big hugs

My guess is that those who do the reporting are the thin skinned christians who feel only they have a right to post on a site dedicated to spirituality.

Keep in mind, in America, christians are weak ever since the US Constitution took power from the bible and made bible law a huge joke...300 years ago christians would have killed many of us posting here who oppose christianity...or they would have had us thrown in prison for life.

In their weakened state of existence though, they only have the ability to whine and cry when some people mock the christian religion. They hate the US Constitution because it gives me rights and abilities that they wish to control, or destroy.

Imagine if Hitler had lived and as punishment he was forced to live out the rest of his life in a Jewish community...forced to tolerate their existence and powerless to stop them from having children, thus ensuring the Jewish race would continue on.

Imagine being forced, by law, to tolerate the opinions of people you truly do hate and despise, people you would take joy in crucifying....that is the christian plight in 21st Century America.

Hmmmm, I bet they even think of it as a form of persecution being applied to their beliefs. LOL

I guess there is a thin line between freedom of speech and harrassment and gender/sex discrimination. I think it's a touchy subject, but I agree; a lot of people are reporting things that don't necessarily need to be reported.

I dont have a problem with being reported if what I said is in violation of the yahoo answers policy - It hasn't happened to me yet however so perhaps you have a point - I don't really know.

Depends, I've reported a person on an answer because that person was deliberating stating falsehoods about something I know to be the contrary. It wasn't a subject or opinion or not but solid fact.

Live and let live...that saying has stood the test of time for a reason.

That said...what is with the thumbs-up/thumbs-down...I had a thumbs-up and then it disappeared. Does this mean someone gave me a thumbs-down and it was canceled out? Why does this have to be so complicated? Geez...

No you are not right. Free speech (note the spelling) does not mean people can say anything anywhere they want to. What about responsibility? What about basic good manners and moral and ethical conduct? Where does that fit into your liberal whining? There are children on here. People who can't play nice in his forum should find another. I suppose you are going to report me because I disagree with you.
