Religious people have never ending explanations why God exists, why your soul exists, why the Bible is true, why human beings are God’s children, why you should serve God, why you will be saved, why you will be doomed, why, why ... why.

Atheists don’t believe in God.

Why do you believe you are a human being and not virtual intelligence?

I was thinking tonight about how sometimes when I call people I don't actually want to talk to them. However, I also don't want to send them a text message, perhaps because the thing I want them to know is difficult to explain in SMS form but relatively easy to explain in a voice mail. I think it would be cool if there were something I could do (say, push a button or something) that could have our phone call automatically directed to the voice mail instead of just hoping that they don't pick up the phone. What do you think?

I am not asking about the Lebanon of today, although it may be relevant. In the scriptures, I have always thought of Lebanon as a place with great cedar trees. However, I was reading in scripture tonight a prophecy about how Lebanon would become a "fruitful field" (implying that it wasn't fruitful). Was Lebanon in Isaiah's time considered un-fruitful? (See Isaiah 29:17.)

I'd like a nice split level condo by the river Styx. In the mornings when I opened my windows I could smell the wafting brimstone.

This guy Carl Benz in Germany invents the automobile in 1886...

He wakes up after filing the patents to find his car is GONE...(can you imagine the translation into German;Dude, where's my Car!"

Mrs. Benz decided to take a few of the family members out for a Sunday drive 50 miles away to visit relatives. She had to stop several times at local drug stores to buy Benzene(fuel), and a leather strap had to be replaced.

Can you imagine the faces on people who are on horses and carriages when she drove thru town? Strange, but true! Too funny!

I haven't really dated since getting saved. We chat in church, but I think I may have given him the idea that I wasn't interested. I just don't feel comfortable umm umm flirting (for a lack of a better word) in church. When we chat I always talk about the sermon or something like that. It's funny because before I came into relationship with CHRIST this would have never been a problem. Help! He really makes me nervous! It's so refreshing to know a brother my age (26) hungry for the Word of God! I want a Godly solution.

Or is he just selling out for ratings? I think Sylvia Browne is a disgusting phony con artist who needs to be in lock up for stealing people's money.

Very personal question: The idea of being hypnotized really turns me on. It has since I was in highschool and volunteered for a stage show. I love everything about it and find it very erotic...my boyfriend says I'm a weirdo and I think he might be right. Anyone else feel that way...or should I seek counselling?

I was molested by my tennis instructor at the age of 11. I am now 31 and guess who my instructor is? Yes, he chose teaching over tennis. I never told anyone out of fear and now I have to see him every week. If he remembers me he is good at hiding it, but that was 20 yrs. ago. He may not recognize me now.

Unless maybe believe in one's self has a definite religious implication.

I'm not an atheist, yet I don't belong to any of the organized religions of this world (and no I'm no extraterrestrial or something). Give me your best!

We are moving to England. She is 5 and quite advanced. (or so i think, no bias here!) She reads, writes, and speaks more clearly and with more structured sentences/'grown up' words than most kindergardeners, and her teacher, piano teacher etc. all comment on it. We are from the midwest, so we have no pronounced drawl, etc., to overcome. A few years ago, I lived in Louisiana, and after being there for a while, I found myself s-l-o-w-i-n-g down my speech patterns, because it was so easy to do. My British husband only lived in the US for a bit, so of course his British accent is very pronounced. Therefore, I am thinking that because I am the only one around her that will be american, she will gradually lose her current accent. On one hand, this would be great, as she wouldn't sound like an 'outsider' but...I never want her to lose her identity as an American (and yes yes yes I know its not the accent, or lack thereof that makes you american). Should I encourage her to lose it?
