I want to hear what you other gals think, from your own experiences. Are lesbian years = dog years? I moved in with my girl pretty quick, i gotta say...

If you don't know what I'm talking about, please don't leave an answer telling me so.

alright, alright.

lesbians have a reputation within their own community of moving a relationship really, really fast. the joke is about lesbians who show up for a first date with a uhaul, ready to move in with you. it's like dog years... one person year is like 7 dog years, so a 2 year old dog is 14 in dog years. i heard someone joke that it's the same for lesbians: they've only been together a month, but they act like it's been 7. ya get it?

i'll never miss an opportunity to educate, i just hate it when people say "i dunno what that means" and don't contribute anything to the question.

I know that Uhaul lesbians do exist, but I think it's an unfair stereotype. It paints all of us with a brush that should be used on only a small segment of our population.

Personally, I have only lived with one woman (my partner of 9 years), and we purposely waited nearly 2 years before moving in together. We both wanted to make sure it was the right thing to do... and apparently, it was. :-)

Of course, there were plenty of sleepovers prior to that, but there is a major change in mindset and behavior that takes place once you AND all your stuff are co-located with another person (and their stuff).

Yes, I think lesbians do make commitments really quickly. It's been my experience and observation that women move in with other women really fast.

Unfortunately, I think this fast moving often leads to poor match-ups. Couples fall in love (in lust?) and think it will be forever and then end up realizing that they don't share the same values, hopes, dreams or brand of toothpaste and then things start to fall apart.

My partner of thirteen years and I met and didn't fall for each other quickly. We were just friends and then realized that we really liked each other. Even then we thought it would last only 2 months. We had both had bad relationship experience, where we had moved in with people really quickly and then after a few months realized we made a mistake, but stuck it out for 2-3 years, hoping the magic of the first 2 months would return. But look at us now, still good friends and living together 13 years later. We didn't move in together for about 1 year after we started our "fling." With this relationship, I'd say that the years are like reverse dog years - we've been together for 13 years, but it still feels fun and tingly, sort of like only 1 year, but with so many more good memories.

Anyhow, I suggest to resist the UHaul urge and make sure you have a lasting friendship and not just lustship, before you make the step to move in together.

I met my partner on the net, came here to meet for the first time and never went home except to pack up and move my belongings. Hey at least I didn't bring the U_Haul the first day. LOL
Yes I think many lesbian relationships move pretty fast. perhaps because we trust each other very quickly and don't feel threatened. By the way its been 6 years so guess its working!!!

i've heard about this before and have even done it once with an EX of mine. you get so wrapped up in each other so quickly and you think you'll never meet another one again cause it was harder enough to find the one you are with you want everything to happen so quickly. My ex partner went as far as organising me to convert my religion and i started learing Spanish so i could talk to here relatives in there own language. it was a tough break up. All this and more happened in less than two years, most of which was a long distance relationship

Hm... We don't shave our. legs. We want to be men. Bananas disgust us. We all shave our heads and try to be masculine. We can't play sports. FACTS: I shave my legs quite often. I do not in any way want to be a male. I love bananas (but only when they're still a bit green). I actually adore my long hair and take pleasure in dressing in a modest, but classy and feminine way. I'm a runner...and our indoor track team just won the district meet...and I ran on the 4x800 relay, and we came in first....and I have been running with my high school since eighth grade and have eleven varsity letters. Total bullcrap, obviously.
