I like Buddhism - but it is a bit too far fetch to think that everyone would turn a Buddhist..... People do have different beliefs and it happens due to variour reasons. THe way they have been brought up, the openness they whow, the intelligence levels, the grasping power etc.

So there is something for each individuals own personality - but all those will be enlightened someday as per Buddhism ;)

Honestly? Because I believe in the concept of some nebulous Divine Being out there. Whether or not that Divine Being actually cares at all about individual lives or not is a moot point to me. I believe that it exhists and had a hand in creating us, setting in motion the evolutionary process that created what we are today. I believe also that there are too many ways of looking at this Divine Being to say which one is true or not, so I just went with the one that fell in with my own way of looking at things, which is the Wiccan concept of a dual faced divinity that is male and female, with many faces for both sides.

I wasn't raised that way.

I have known Buddhists and find the religion interesting but I was brought up Christian and am a believing and practicing Christian.

In Japan and other parts of Asia it is not that unusual to see people practice both Buddhism and Christianity.

Well, I'm closer to that than anything else. I attend teachings at a monastery and have adopted the ideals, just not the practice.

Why should I ?
Why should I worship a Statue that doesn't do anything rather than my one true God ( Allah) who created the whole universe.!
